HPCET Result 2018 Score Card

HPCET 2018 Result will be declared in the last week of May or First week of June 2018.

  • The aspirant can contact HIMTU for any discrepancies/queries regarding result.
  • The aspirant can view the result of HPCET 2018 on the official website of HIMTU.
  • Final admission is done on the basis of counseling which is performed differently for different courses.
  • Aspirants will have to enter roll number or name in order to check their result.
  • In case of a tie, a tiebreaker procedure set by HIMTU is used for selection.
  • After the results, aspirants will be called for counseling procedure if they surpass an at least cutoff criterion set by HIMTU.

Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is a state level offline exam. It is organized by HIMTU, elaborated as Himachal Pradesh Technical University for admission into different programs being provided by HIMTU.

HPCET 2018 How to Check Result?

HPCET 2018 Result is expected to be declared in the final week of May 2018 or the first week of June 2018. The aspirant can view their result via the official website of HIMTU right after the declaration of result.

The result of HPCET 2018 does not straight entitle an aspirant to have admission in any course. Aspirants have to separately fill the forms regarding the course aspirants wishes to get admission in.

HPCET 2018 Steps to View the Results

Result for HPCET 2018 can be viewed via the official website of HIMTU. Aspirant required to follow the following steps to view the result:

  • Access the official website of Himachal Pradesh Technical University, www.himtu.ac.in
  • Click on ‘HPCET 2018 result for B.Tech./B.Pharma/MBA/MCA/M.Tech./M.Pharma’
  • Now aspirant required to enter the credentials asked on the results page (as shown in the picture below) and aspirant will be able to view result for HPCET 2018.
  • This will redirect aspirant to the results page.
  • There you will see notifications flashing about different courses and results.

However, if the aspirant is unable to find the notification about HPCET 2018 result, there is an alternate mode available via which an aspirant can view the results. Here are the steps:

  • Access the official website of HIMTU. (www.himtu.ac.in).
  • Scroll down, click on view results button.

  • Now aspirant required to click on ‘HPCET 2018 result for B.Tech./B.Pharma/MBA/MCA/M.Tech./M.Pharma’
  • This will redirect aspirant to all the results of HIMTU.
  • This will open the results page similar to the one shown above.

Cut off for HPCET 2018

To get admission in different courses being provided by HIMTU under HPCET 2018, the aspirant has to complete certain cut off which is set by HIMTU itself.

The cut off is clearly relative and is subject to changes year by year. These factors are: However, there are some certain factors which affect the cut off score.

  • Number of seats available or any decrease/increase in number of seats
  • Past year trends of cutoff
  • Difficulty of HPCET 2018
  • Number of aspirants appearing for HPCET 2018.

Tie Breaking Criteria

In case two or more students have the equal number of marks in HPCET 2018, the university uses tiebreaker criteria which cater the purpose of selecting an aspirant in such situation. The criteria are various for various courses. The following table may sum up the criteria used for breaking the tie:-

B.Tech, B.Pharma, B.Pharma (Ayurveda)For aspirants applying via HPCET 2018, if aggregate marks are same for any two or more aspirants, aspirant with higher marks in Physics will be given preference over other aspirants. Further, if marks in Physics are same, then marks of Chemistry would be used as the tiebreaker. In case the tie still does not get resolved, marks of remaining third subject will be used for breaking the tie. The aspirant with higher marks in such subject will be preferred. Now if even after the use of marks of the third subject, the tie has not got broken, then simply, aspirant with higher age will be preferred.
If an aspirant is applying for admission on the basis of Qualifying Exam – Class 12 marks, and aggregate marks of any two or more aspirants are same, then aspirant with higher age will be preferred over others.
B.Tech/B. Pharmacy.-Lateral EntryIf an aspirant is applying for admission on the basis of respective Diploma marks, and aggregate marks of any two or more aspirants are same, then aspirant with higher age will be preferred over others.
Master of Technology (M. Tech)If two or more aspirants have same aggregate marks in HPCET 2018, then aspirant with higher marks in Aptitude section of HPCET 2018 will be preferred over other aspirants. Further, if marks of Aptitude sections are same, then aspirant with higher marks in Mathematics section will be preferred for admission. If marks of both Mathematics and Aptitude section are same, then aspirant with higher age will be given admission.
Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharmacy)If aspirants are applying on the basis of HPCET 2018 marks, and aggregate marks of two or more aspirant are same, then aspirant with the higher score in the related subject – Part B of HPCET 2018 will be selected for admission. Further, if marks in the related subject are also equal, then aspirant with higher age will be preferred for admission.
If aspirants are applying on the basis of Qualifying Degree – B.Pharmacy and aggregate marks of two or more aspirants are same, then elder aspirant will be preferred for admission.
M.B.A & M.C.A –Direct EntryIf aspirants are applying on the basis of HPCET 2018 or any other national level exam, and two or more aspirants have equal aggregate marks in such test, then aspirant with the higher score in Verbal Ability will be preferred over others. Further, if marks in Verbal Ability section are same, then aspirant with higher marks in Quantitative Ability will be selected. In case marks of both these sections are same, then aspirant with higher marks in Data Interpretation will be preferred for admission. In case sectional score in all the three section is same, then aspirant with higher age will be preferred for admission.
If aspirants are applying on the basis of qualifying degree or graduation marks, and aggregate marks of any two aspirants are same, then aspirant with higher age will be selected.
M.C.A -Lateral EntryIf aspirants are applying on the basis of qualifying degree or examination, and two or more aspirants have equal aggregate marks in qualifying degree or examination, then aspirant with higher age will be preferred for admission.

Counseling Procedure of HPCET 2018

After the declaration of result of HPCET 2018, HIMTU starts organizing the counseling procedure for different courses being provided by it.

MCACounseling for MCA program is done solely on the basis of HPCET 2018 score. In case the seats remain vacant after the first round, second and further rounds may be taken. In the last round, admission is given on the basis of Graduation score.

Documents to be Carried along while Counseling

At the time of counseling for different courses under HIMTU, the aspirant should not forget to carry following documents in original forms and also one set of attested copies of each:

  • Character Certificate of aspirant, from last Institute which he/she attended
  • Degree certificates for Graduation (if any).
  • Class 10 or 12 certificate, as a proof of Date of Birth.
  • Result Card of HPCET 2018 or Result Card of any other National Level Examination, if it qualifies for admission
  • Affidavit attested by the Executive Magistrate if the aspirant is applying under Beti Hai Anmol Scheme.
  • Certificate of state of being Physically challenged allowed by competent authority, if any
  • Detailed Marks Sheet of Earlier examination passed by the aspirant.
  • Caste Certificate or Category Certificate allowed by competent authority (for reserved category aspirants)
  • Residence proof and Kashmiri Migrants certificate allowed by competent authority, if aspirant is applying under Kashmiri Migrants’ Quota
  • Proof of Income or Income certificate allowed by competent authority, if aspirant is applying under any scholarship program
  • Residence proof allocated by competent authority
