GITAM GAT PGT Exam Pattern 2018

GITAM GAT PGT Exam Format 2018 or Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management GAT Post Graduate Test will be released by the university. GITAM GAT PGT 2018 will be held in online method and will be organized across multiple sessions to accommodate all the participants. The tentative date of exam is 3rd to 4th week of April 2018.

Aspirants will get a total of 2 hours to clear GITAM GAT PGT paper. Aspirants will be able to know their score at the end of the test session. There will be a total 100 questions which contain 400 marks altogether. Admissions to M.Tech courses are availed on the basis of Merit card in the exam and the eligibility as specified by GITAM University.

Exam Format for GITAM GAT 2018

GITAM GAT PGT 2018 exam will be held in the online method for 2 hours. All these questions will be generated from a large question bank and each aspirant will get various question sets. The medium of the test will be English only. GITAM GAT PGT entrance test will consist of 3 sections and Multiple Choice Questions or MCQs will be asked in the sections. An expert committee will ensure that all question sets are of equal standard, content, question type, etc.

GITAM GAT 2018 Method of Exam:

  • The examination will be organized in online method only.
  • Aspirants are expected to be familiar with the basics of computer.
  • This exam will be held in a window of multiple days and to take it, aspirants will have to opt for the GITAM GAT PGT 2018 Slot Booking.

GITAM GAT 2018 Period of Exam:

  • The total period of the examination will be of 2 hours or 120 minutes.
  • No relaxation will be providing to any aspirants.

GITAM GAT 2018 Sections in Paper:

  • There will be total three sections in the question paper – Quantitative Ability and Numerical Data (QA & ND), Analysis Reasoning & Intelligence (AR & I), and Verbal Ability (VA).
  • All the sections are necessary and compulsory to attempt.

GITAM GAT 2018 Questions in the Exam:

  • For each question, four options will be given and aspirants required to choose the accurate one.
  • The QA & ND section will carry total 40 questions, whereas, in RA & I and VA sections there will be total 30 questions each.
  • There will be total 100 questions in the examination.
  • All the questions, in each section, will be of MCQ.

Language:

  • The examination question paper will be presented in the English Language only.

GATE qualified aspirants are exempted from appearing for GAT PGT 2018 exam. They required applying to GITAM University for admission before the last date and aspirants have to attend counseling as per the scheduled date.

Marking Scheme for GITAM GAT 2018

GITAM GAT PGT 2018 will include of 100 questions. The total marks of this entrance test will be 400. Objective or multiple choice questions (MCQs) are the generally asked. All questions will carry 4 marks each, which will only be allotted for choosing the accurate response option.

There will be three sections in the exam namely Numerical Data Analysis / Quantitative Analysis, Reasoning & Intelligence and Verbal Ability. No marks will be honored for unresponsive questions.

GITAM GAT 2018 Tie-breaking Method

In case there is a tie between 2 aspirants, the mode adopted for resolving it will be:

  • In the order of scores in mathematics/biology, who secure the maximum marks, will get the admission. If tie-breaking still persists, the next option has opted.
  • Physics marks will get the preference after that. One who secures maximum marks in that will get admission.
  • Next, chemistry marks will get preference if the problem still persists. Aspirants who secure the maximum marks in that will get admission.
  • Lastly, aspirants whose date of birth is previous will get preference.

Mock Test for GITAM GAT PGT 2018

Every year university announces some Mock Test papers for exercise. Aspirants are advised to go via it before attending GITAM GAT PGT 2018.

  • Although the actual test will be of 120 minutes, the GITAM GAT PGT Mock Test 2018 will be of 30 minutes only.
  • All Aspirants will have to first select the section that they wish to attempt from the given three sections namely:
  • In the test, some symbols will be used or displayed to allow aspirants to understand their meanings for the main exam.

GITAM GAT PGT 2018 Important Guidelines for Exam

GITAM GAT PGT 2018 Admit Cards/Hall Ticket will not be sent by any post. Aspirants must report to the GITAM GAT PGT Test center one hour before the commencement of the examination. If the aspirants arrive after the onsite orientation begins, he/she will not be allowed to take the examination. Aspirants who are not reporting on time are likely to miss some of the general instructions concerned to the test. There will be an on-site orientation taken place before the exam.

  • The aspirant can attend the exam only once in a year.
  • As the GITAM GAT PGT 2018 test takes place in online mode, Aspirants are expected to have the basic familiarity with computer and its basic functions like how to use keyboard and mouse etc.
  • After the test is over, the computer will display the result immediately in terms of the total number of accurate responses, a total number of wrong responses, and the net score.
  • Exam halls will be opened 30 minutes before the commencement of GITAM GAT PGT 2018.
  • Aspirants must make sure that the computer allotted to him/her is working properly. If not, he/she should inform it immediately.
  • Aspirants make sure to take them admit card with them.
  • Aspirant will not be allowed to go outside the test hall until the period of the test is over. Once the aspirant leaves the test hall, they will not be permitted to re-enter the test hall under any circumstances.
  • The result of GITAM GAT PGT 2018 will be declared 10 days after the completion of the test.
