How to calculate GATE 2018 Marks using Response key?

The total marks equal the count of marks gained in the accurate responses and deduct the marks lost in inaccurate markings. The marking scheme of GATE CY Paper is offered below:

  • For questions carrying 2 marks, 2/3 marks would be deducted for marking an inaccurate response.
  • The NAT questions don’t have the provision of negative marking.
  • MCQs carrying 1 marks each, 1/3 marks would be deducted as a penalty for marking the wrong response.

NAT Marks = Total marks (1 mark each question) + Total marks (2 marks each question)

Total Marks obtained for MCQs = [{+1(for each accurate response carrying 1 mark) – 1/3 (for each inaccurate response carrying 1 mark)} + {2 (for each accurate response carrying 2 marks) – 2/3 (for each inaccurate response carrying 2 marks)}]

GATE score = Marks obtained for MCQs + Marks obtained for NAT questions
