DU (Delhi University) LLB 2018 Exam Pattern

DU LLB 2018 notification and exam format will be announced on the official website- www.ducampus.in in May 2018. DU LLB 2018 will be a pen and paper-based test i.e. method of the exam is offline.

  • Every accurate response will be honoured +4 marks and negative marking scheme will be eligible. The maximum marks an aspirant can score is 700.
  • The total number of questions asked in the entrance test will be 175.
  • The question paper will be divided into 2 sections- General Knowledge and Aptitude and Legal Awareness.
  • It will include multiple choice questions (MCQs) i.e. objective type questions.
  • The medium of questions in DU LLB 2018 will be English only.
  • The period of the exam will be 2 hours (120 minutes).

DU LLB 2018 is a state level offline test that will be organizeed in the third week of June 2018. It is a gateway for candidates wants admissions into LLB programs provideed by the different affiliated institutes.

Exam Format in Detail of DU LLB 2018

DU LLB 2018 is a conventional pen and paper-based test. They must note that negative marking will be eligible for this test. Students must select the response that seems the most correct out of 4 alternative options given. It will include175 objective questions to be solved within 120 minutes. The question paper will be available in the English language only. The maximum marks an aspirant can score in DU LLB 2018 are 700.

The question paper will be segregated into 2 sections- General Knowledge and Aptitude and Legal Awareness. There will be no sectional time limit i.e. no restriction of solving a particular section within a stipulated amount of time.  They will need to mark their responses on an OMR sheet. Candidates can choose to attempt any section in the order they seeking.

DU LLB 2018 Exam Format for General Knowledge

This section is designed to evaluate the general awareness of the aspirant. It will have questions to test candidate’s proficiency in English language, awareness of ongoing, present events, quantitative aptitude, analytical and logical reasoning. Generally, about 80 questions are asked in this section.

DU LLB 2018 Exam Format for Aptitude and Legal Awareness

This section will assess the participant’s knowledge in the legal field. Questions regarding political science and events, constitution, rights and duties, amendments, etc. will be asked. Around 90-95 questions will be asked in this segment.

Marking Scheme of DU LLB 2018

Participants must know the marking scheme in order to decide how to attempt the questions in the law entrance test. There has been no change in the marking scheme of DU LLB 2018 entrance examination and it is the same as it was for the year 2017. It should be noted that negative marking will be eligible for the test. The marking scheme is given as follows:

  • The marking of two options on the OMR sheet will be considered as a wrong response and negative marking will be eligible accordingly.
  • +4 marks will be honoured to candidates for marking every correct response.
  • Marks will not be deducted from the total score of the person for leaving a question blank or failure in attempting it.
  • There will be a penalty of marks charged for marking wrong or inaccurate responses i.e. negative marking will be eligible. For every incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score of students.

Exam Syllabus of DU LLB 2018

The syllabus for DU LLB 2018 will be based on 10+2 or higher secondary school level knowledge. It will be as decided by Delhi University for every section. The section wise syllabus is given as follows: Students must make sure that they follow right syllabus to prepare well for the exam.

Part 1: General Knowledge

The aim of this section is to determine the general thought procedure of aspirants. It will assess candidate’s command over the English language, their awareness in present events and mathematical aptitude (up to class 10) as also logical reasoning ability. Part 2: Aptitude and Legal Awareness

The second section of DU LLB will evaluate aspirant’s knowledge in the legal field. Candidates must focus on the topics given in this section as they have more weightage in the exam. The important topics are mentioned below:

  • Powers and functions of Executive, Judiciary and Legislature of India
  • Fundamental rights and duties
  • Indian Constitution
  • Questions based on reasoning and principle

Important Instructions of DU LLB 2018

It is the responsibility of every candidate to ensure that they follow some rules and regulations formulated by the organizing body to maintain the decorum of DU LLB 2018 entrance exam hall so that the examination proceeds properly.

  • It should be noted that any personal establish indulging in unfair means in the examination hall will be prohibited from appearing in the entrance exam and will be disqualified.
  • Items like calculator, logarithm table, slide rulers, Bluetooth devices, mobile phones, chits of paper etc. are debarred and will not be allowed inside the exam centre.
  • They will be advised to open the DU LLB 2018 question paper only when the examiner instructs to do so.
  • Aspirants must ensure that they darken the bubbles properly in the OMR sheet.
  • Aspirants appearing in DU LLB 2018 will have to report to their allotted exam centre as early as 30 minutes before the commencement of exam.
  • According to the instruction by Delhi University, candidates should not carry any irrelevant documents to their respective exam centre other than DU LLB 2018 Hall Ticket (e-hall ticket), an identity proof, a pencil, an eraser and blue/ black ball-point pen.
  • Students will be able to attempt the questions in any order they seeking as there is no sectional time limit.
  • Participants will need to fill their details in the OMR response sheet of DU LLB 2018 in the first 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam.

Aspirants are allowed to approach the Centre Superintendent/ Examiner in the room if they require any technical assistance, first aid emergency or any information regarding the test.
