CSIR UGC NET Result 2018

CSIR UGC NET 2018 result will be announced by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in September 2018 for the examination organizeed in June 2018. It will be available only in online mode. Based on the results of CSIR UGC NET 2018 exam a merit list would be prepared and aspirants would be placed on the list subject to their performance in the exam. The result will be available on the official website at http://csirhrdg.res.in/.

The result will display the following information:

  • Registration number
  • Marks obtained
  • Roll number
  • Category

Based on the performance of the aspirants in the exam, two separate lists will be declared by CSIR. One of the lists will display aspirants who have qualified JRF-NET and the other will display the details of aspirants declared applicable for Lectureship (NET).

Details on Scorecard

CSIR UGC NET 2018 scorecard is a crucial document which is needed to be carried at the time of counseling. The scorecard is a vital document that certifies your performance in the exam. Following details would be mentioned on the scorecard:

  • Marks obtained
  • Aspirant’s Registration Number
  • Status of the result, whether qualified or not.
  • Category
  • Aspirant’s Roll Number
  • Respective rank

Aspirants must take the print out of the scorecard for reference purposes.

Along with total marks and percentage, marks statement gives aspirants reach to their marks in personal sections - A, B, and C. Other details mentioned on the marks statement comprise the name of the aspirant, roll number, and subject.

Response Key of CSIR UGC NET 2018

The response key for CSIR UGC NET 2018 organizeed in June will be available in July 2018 on the official website of CSIR. The response key will be announced for all sets of test booklets. This will help the aspirants to estimate their score in the examination by matching their answers with those given in the response key.

For estimating the score, following points should be considered by aspirants:

  • Part B: Each accurate response in this section will be allotted 2 marks. For each wrong response, 25% will be deducted.
  • Part A: Each accurate response in this section will be allotted 2 marks. For each wrong response, 25% will be deducted.
  • Part C: Each accurate response in this section will be allotted 4 marks. For each wrong response, 25% will be deducted.

Merit List of CSIR UGC NET 2018

Two separate merit lists will be announced on the basis of the performance of the aspirants in the test. One list will display the roll number and rank of aspirants who have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF-NET), and the other list will display the roll number and rank of aspirants who have qualified the Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET). Those aspirants who find their roll number and rank in the result list will need to send the above-mentioned documents to obtain the Qualifying Certificate.

Cut Off of CSIR UGC NET 2018

Cut Off is the at least percentage used to determine the aspirants who are applicable for Fellowship/Lectureship. Two separate Cut Off lists will be announced for selecting aspirants for Fellowship and Lectureship. Each branch will have a separate Cut Off score.

Cut Off marks are affected by a number of factors such as:

  • Number of participants who appeared for the test
  • Difficulty level of the test
  • Number of seats available for appointment of aspirants
  • Earlier cut-off trends of the test

Interview with CSIR UGC NET 2018

Those aspirants who will qualify CSIR UGC NET 2018 exam will be called for interview. The interview will be organizeed by expert committees who will assess the academic record and published work of the appearing aspirant. Not all aspirants may be selected for the interview. Aspirants will be selected for interview only after screening on the basis of criteria followed by CSIR depending on the number of fellowships available.

Awarding Junior Research Fellowships and Lectureship

The following criterion applies when it comes to awarding Junior Research Fellowships and Lectureship:

  • Aspirants qualifying for the award of JRF (NET) will receive fellowship either from CSIR or UGC as per their assignment or from the Schemes with which they may find an association. The aspirants declared applicable for Junior Research Fellowship under UGC scheme and Lectureship will be governed by UGC rules/regulations in this regard.  
  • The aspirants qualifying for Lectureship will be applicable for appointment as Lecturers as well as for JRF-ship in a Scheme/Project, if otherwise appropriate.  However, they will not be applicable for Regular JRF-NET Fellowship.
  • If an aspirant is established to be over-age for JRF (NET) he/she will automatically be considered for Lectureship (NET) only.  
  • The award of Junior Research Fellowship (NET) to aspirants will be subjected to their admission/placement in a university/ national laboratory/ institution of higher learning and research, as eligible.
  • Aspirants qualifying for JRF (NET), will also be applicable for Lectureship (NET) subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid down by UGC.
