CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) UGC NET 2018

CSIR UGC NET 2018 is expected to be held in June 2018. Hall Tickets will be announced in the first week of June 2018. Result of the exam will be announced in form of merit list at the official website post successful organize of examination. Applications for UGC NET 2018 will be invited at its official website starting from February 2018. The exam will be organizeed to provide Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship to the qualified aspirants in major universities of India.

Organizeed by University Grants Commission in offline mode, the exam is held yearly for post graduates obtaining 50% marks or above. The paper includes MCQs worth 200 marks with questions designed differently for each stream.

Important Dates of CSIR UGC NET 2018

The applications for CSIR UGC NET 2018 can be filled on the official website starting from February 2018. Result of the exam is expected to be announced in June 2019. Eligibility for CSIR UGC NET 2018

There are certain eligibility requirements which must be fulfilled by the aspirants in order to appear for CSIR UGC NET 2018 exam. Following are the eligibility conditions which are need of the aspiring aspirants:

Educational Qualification  

M.Sc or an equivalent degree / Integrated BS-MS / BS - 4 years / BE / B. Tech / B. Pharma / MBBS.

  • At Least Marks: 55% marks for General Aspirants (50% for SC / ST / physically and visually handicapped aspirants)
  • Qualifying Exam 4: PhD degree holders, who have passed Master’s degree before September 19, 1991, with at least 50% marks, are applicable to apply for the only Lectureship.
  • Qualifying Exam 1: M.Sc or those who have finished 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination, are also applicable to apply.
  • Qualifying Exam 3: Bachelor’s degree / enrolled for PhD / Integrated PhD programme
  • Qualifying Exam 2: BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or aspirants enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program can apply as well.

Age Limit

  • For Junior Research Fellowship (NET): Aspirants should be a maximum of 28 years of age as on 01-01-2018. The upper age limit can be relaxed up to 5 years for SC / ST / OBC-NCL / Physically or Visually handicapped and female aspirants.

For Lectureship (NET): There is no upper age limit.

It should be noted that those who qualify LS NET will be deemed applicable for JRF only in a Scheme or Project. However, they will not be applicable for Regular JRF NET Fellowship. The results will be valid for a duration of two years, within which the aspirant can join the CSIR fellowship. Following completion of two years, Result of the aspirants will be considered invalid for admission to fellowships.
