CLAT 2018 Official Notification published by NUALS, Kochi

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi has announced the official notification for CLAT 2018. The registration window will become functional from January 1.  The law entrance test is scheduled for May 13 from 3 to 5 pm.

What is new in CLAT 2018?

  • There is no age limit to apply for the law exam. 
  • This year, new NLU has been added to the list, taking the number of NLUs to 19.

Important Dates for CLAT 2018 Exam

This year, it is expected that more than 50,000 aspirants will register for the law entrance examination. NUALS Kochi has announced the official schedule for the LLB and LLM exam. Tabulated below are the same:

CLAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria require an aspirant to fulfill different standards to apply and thereafter appear for the law entrance exam. The standards will be prescribed by NUALS. 

Eligibility for LLB Program

  • Intermediate graduates with 45% marks (General/ OBC/ SAP) and 40% marks (SC/ ST)
  • Aspirants appearing in the qualifying examination in March/ April 2018 can also register. 
  • As per the notification, there is no age limit to apply online for CLAT 2018.
Note March/ April 2018 aspirants have to produce any evidence of passing the qualifying examination at the time of final seat allocation.

Eligibility for LLM Program

  • Law graduates with 55% marks (General/ OBC/ SAP and other categories) and 50% marks (SC/ST)
  • Aspirants must have passed/ appeared in the final semester/ year of the qualifying exam on the date of final admissions. 
  • Aspirants who appeared in the qualifying examination, have to submit the final result of the examination within the time frame prescribed by the respective university. Till then such aspirants are given provisional admissions.

CLAT 2018 Application Form

The application form for legal aptitude test will be available at www.clat.ac.in. The form will be available for filling until March 31. Listed below are official information concerned with CLAT Application Form published by NUALS Kochi.

  • The form can be filled through online method only
  • Cross check all the details like names, marks etc before submitting the form. 
  • Use the provisional credentials to log in to fill the online application.
  • To register/ fill the application, choose the tab ‘Click Here for new Registration’ and offer your Name, Email-ID, and Mobile No. A provisional Registration No. and Password will be allowed and will be sent to the registered email and mobile no.
  • Registration required to be done using your individual email ID and mobile number

CLAT 2018 Application Fee

There is a stipulated fee as per aspirant’s category that requires being paid to successfully submit the form. The fee is as follows:

CLAT 2018 Exam Format

The law entrance examination will be of two hours duration. It is an online method exam, having 200 objective type questions. Check CLAT Exam Format

CLAT Exam Format for LLB Program

For undergraduate courses, the question paper will contain 5 sections and 200 MCQs. The section wise distribution of questions is mentioned below:

CLAT 2018 Exam Format for LLM Program

The question paper for postgraduate courses will have a total of 3 sections and 150 multiple choice questions. Distribution of questions in each section is indicated in the table below:

Marking Scheme for CLAT 2018 – For each accurate response, one mark will be honored. However, for every wrong response, 0.25 mark will be deducted.
