A merit list is created by UGC to determine the list of applicable students.
1. Preparation of merit list based on cut-off scores
For the students who secure cut-off scores, a merit list is prepared. This merit list is based on their aggregate marks, scored in each subject in all three papers. There are two lists, one subject-wise and the other category-wise.
2. UGC NET result for Merit Students
UGC takes out top 15% aspirants from the merit list and releases them applicable for Assistant Professors in Indian universities and colleges.
3. UGC NET result for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
After the above procedure, a separate cut-off list is prepared for the students applicable for JRF. Below is the formula to calculate the score and thus the eligibility.
Number of slots under General Category for JRF = (Number of aspirants who have opted for eligibility for Assistant Professor in that subject X Number of slots available under General category) / Total number of general aspirants who have opted for JRD and are qualified for eligibility for assistant professor
Response key of CBSE UGC NET 2018 will be announced in May 2018. The response key has the accurate responses of all the papers. Once the result is out, an aspirant can verify the marks using the response key.
Response key of all the CBSE UGC NET 2018 papers will be available online in the first week of May and candidates can download the response keys from there.
UGC prepares a list of merit students. Once the list is out, UGC prepares a subject-wise merit list as well, which has names of those aspirants who are NET qualified for applying for jobs as an Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship. Students need to go via the eligibility criteria of each university or college before applying.
Aspirants appearing for UGC NET 2018 required to score above cut-off marks in order to qualify the NET exam. Only those aspirants who score above the cut-off scores, in all three papers, are given their result.
