National Eligibility Test 2018 or NET 2018 is a national level exam organized by Central Board of Secondary Education on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC). This national level test is a qualifying exam for lectureship in universities. It is also compulsory for some research programs.

UGC NET 2018 is essential for aspirants trying for lectureship positions. It also exempts students from having to clear an M.Phil degree as many universities in India offer eligibility relaxation to students who have completed NET.
CBSE UGC NET 2018 consists of only Multiple-Choice Questions. It is common for all the aspirants. Paper 2 and Paper 3 are subject papers and test the expertise of the aspirant in the concerned subject. Paper 1 or the General Paper consists of questions based on mathematics, logical reasoning and teaching aptitude. It has three parts - Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3.

UGC CBSE NET Exam Syllabus is varied and depends on the subject that the aspirant has selected. This is the reason why aspirants are advised to write their exam on their Masters subject.
Since the eligibility criteria for the NET exam is a Masters’ degree. It is essential that aspirants revise their Bachelors and Masters syllabus thoroughly and are aware of the research advances in their field.
Aspirants should try and solve model question papers and go via earlier years’ question papers.
