CAT Toppers 2017

The long wait was finally over when CAT 2017 results were declared on January 8, 2018 at the official website.

Out of the 1.9 lacs aspirants who appeared in CAT 2017, 20 aspirants attained a perfect 100 percentile. This trend is similar to the lasts year’s CAT Results with 20 aspirants making it to the top.

CAT 2017 witnessed a few differences in the profile of aspirants topping the exam. This is a welcoming change as CAT exam has been dominated by engineering students. Check CAT Cutoff For the first time, 3 aspirants from a non-engineering background and 2 women were among the top scorers. It serves as a source of encouragement for students going forward.

Next Step in the Selection Procedure

Based on CAT 2017 results, IIMs and tops B-schools initiate the screening procedure by short-listing aspirants. The best aspirants will be invited for the next round of the admission procedure.

Selected aspirants have to appear for Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (DG) and Individual Interview (PI). Based on the performance on these rounds, aspirants are selected. According to officials, 20,000 aspirants will take part in the second round out of which 5,000 students will be selected in different IIMs and top B-schools across the country.

For those aspirants who do not have a perfect score obligatory not be worried. Even in the past, aspirants with lower CAT scores have been selected based on their work experience or academic credentials. They are still in the running to get a seat at one of the best B-schools.  

Latest MBA Application Forms

Aspirants can begin filling the application forms of the below institutes. They will accept the scores of CAT Exam 2017. Aspirants securing the at least CAT Cutoff 2017 will proceed towards GD/PI rounds.
