CAT is an online computer based test which is organized in the last week of December every year. Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level examination managed by the IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) on a rotational basis.
CAT examination is held every year for admission in the Post-Graduate Business Administration Program for the different IIM, IIT, NITs and much other Government and private institutions situated in India.

CAT 2019 will be organized in online mode. The question paper will contain 100 questions of both types - Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) having four options and non-Multiple Choice Questions(non-MCQs).
It will be divided into three sections: Verbal and Reading Comprehension section, Quantitative Aptitude section and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.
The period of the exam will be 180 minutes (60 minutes for each section). Aspirants will be honored three marks for each right response while one mark will be deducted for each wrong response.

This section will have questions from English language and grammar. It tests an aspirant’s language and comprehension skills. A total of 34 questions will be asked from this section which will be further divided into 24 MCQ and 10 Non-MCQs.
This section will focus on two aspects- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. They will be further divided into 24 MCQ & 8 Non-MCQs. There will be a total of 32 questions from this section. Questions from Data Interpretation (DI) focus on an aspirant’s ability to derive conclusions from a given set of data.
This section focuses on numerical problems and will test an aspirant’s mathematical knowledge. Aspirants will have to clear this section in 60 minutes. There is a total of 34 questions in this section. They will be further divided into 24 MCQ and 10 Non-MCQs. It is a test of speed, accuracy, and precision.
CAT Paper will have two types of questions – MCQs and Non-MCQs. Both the type of questions will carry equal marks. There will be total 100 Questions.
For every accurate response, aspirants will be honored 3 marks while 1 mark will be deducted from aspirants’ score for each inaccurate response. No mark will be given or deducted from the question left blank/unresponsive.

CAT 2019 Syllabus is not predefined. As per trend, the questions can be asked from any topics of Verbal and Reading Comprehension section, Quantitative Aptitude section and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.
