National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) holds a vision with the present and future required of the Indian economy and its vibrant and growing sectors. CAT is accepted for admission to its popular programs- PGDIM (PG Diploma in Industrial Management) and PGDISEM (PG Diploma in Industrial Safety & Environmental Management).

  • The application fee is INR 1000 for general category aspirants & INR 500 reserved category aspirants.
  • Foreign nationals must hold a valid GMAT and TOEFL/ IELTS score.
  • CAT 2017 Cut Off for NITIE is expected to be 97 percentile. Admissions to PGDIM and PGDISEM programs are done strictly on the basis of CAT scores.
  • After completing the cutoff, aspirants will be called for an Individual Interview round.
  • Aspirants can apply on the basis of CAT Result between November 6- January 22, 2018 at NITIE official website.

  3. Click on ‘Apply online for PGDIM/PGDISEM’
  4. Generate your id and password
  5. Fill the application form and pay the requisite fee
  6. A confirmation mail will be sent to your email id

  1. Full-time graduates in engineering/ technology
  2. At Least 60% marks in graduation (55% marks for reserved categories)
  3. Final year students can apply
  4. A valid CAT Score

CAT Cut Off 2017 for NITIE

Factors Affecting CAT Cutoff

Different parameters are considered before announcing the CAT cut off marks. These comprise:

  • Number of aspirants applied for admission
  • The difficulty level of the examination
  • The average performance of aspirants in CAT
  • Availability of seats
  • Reservation policy of the B school

NITIE Admission 2018 Eligibility Criteria

National Institute of Industrial Engineering follows a structured pattern for the selection of aspirants. For admission to PGDIM and PGDISEM programs, only CAT score of aspirants is considered by NITIE. No other entrance examination scores will be considered.

There are two phases of the selection criteria for admission into PGDIM and PGDISEM programs in NITIE:

Phase 1: Shortlisting of aspirants on the basis of CAT score

  • The first phase of the selection criteria is shortlisting of aspirants, based on the marks that they have obtained in CAT.
  • Only those aspirants will be shortlisted who will qualify the cut off marks.
  • Only those who will complete the cut off marks will be called for Phase 2 of selection.
  • After CAT cut off will be released by NITIE, it will start shortlisting aspirants.
  • The cut off marks will be various for various categories.

Phase 2: Individual Interview

  • The academic performance of aspirants is also evaluated in this round.
  • In Phase 2, aspirants will be called by the Institute for the individual interview.
  • Aspirants who have qualified Phase 1 will be called for Phase 2.
  • If aspirants have any work experience, it might help them get more points, especially if the industry is concerned to the same field.  
  • The interindividual skills of aspirants will be evaluated in this round.

After Phase 2, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering will publish the final list of aspirants who will be provided admission in the PGDIM and PGDSEM programs. Apart from getting a high percentile in CAT, aspirants have to perform well in the individual interview round for getting admission.
