BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test) Marking Scheme, Exam Pattern 2018

BITSAT Exam Format 2018 for the academic year 2018-19 will not observe any change in its pattern. BITSAT 2018 will be held in online method only. It will be same as the last year. The total period of BITSAT online test is 3 hours. BITSAT 2018 will be held tentatively in the month of May 2018.

  • After finishing all 150 question, an aspirant can opt for 12 Extra questions.
  • There is a provision of negative marking.
  • There will be a total of 150 questions.
  • BITSAT Syllabus 2018 will have questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, English and Logical Reasoning 
  • One mark will be honoured for each accurate response.
  • BITSAT Entrance Exam is includes multiple choice questions (MCQ).

Exam Format for Mathematics for BITSAT 2018

  • For each accurate response, an aspirant will score +3.
  • There will be a total of 45 questions from this section.
  • For each inaccurate response, an aspirant will lose -1.
  • Lasy year, the Mathematics section had 10 questions were of easy difficulty level, 27 questions were of moderate difficulty level and 8 questions were of difficulty level.

Exam Format for English Language & Logical Reasoning of BITSAT 2018

  • Passages, lines of poems, dialogues, grammar, etc. are selected according to the level of this exam.
  • Logical Reasoning paper in BITSAT 2018 will have 10 questions.
  • There are 3 Comprehension questions which consist of either short passage of 30-50 lines or few lines of poems or else dialogue – 2 exchanges.
  • There will be 2 questions based on English Grammar and Pronunciation.
  • English paper in BITSAT 2018 will have 15 questions.

Important Instructions for BITSAT 2018

Here are some important instructions that an aspiring aspirant for BITSAT 2018 should keep in their mind. The instructions are mentioned below:

  • The final list of BITSAT exam centres and actual days of the exam will be released to aspirants via BITS website i.e. www.bitsadmission.com.
  • Aspirants can go back and change any of their responses to the 150 questions.
  • In case an aspirant response all 150 questions within the given time of 3 hours (without skipping any question), then they can attempt an additional 12 questions (four each from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only).
  • There is no time limit for personal parts of the test.
  • These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology only; four questions from each part.
  • Aspirants who are allotted test centres on campuses of BITS will be offered with accommodation and will be charged nominal rates for the same in hostels.
  • Once the aspirant has opted for extra questions, they cannot go back to modify or accurate the previous 150 questions.
  • An aspirant can attempt 12 extra questions if they have responded all the 150 questions (without skipping any question) within the prescribed time limit.
  • The extra questions (a maximum of 12) will give a chance to highly meritorious aspirants to score higher.

Applicable and aspiring aspirants must have an understanding of the marking scheme followed in BITSAT 2018 so that they can avoid unnecessary confusion and can maximize their scores.
