Assam NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test) MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018

Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018 for institutes across the state will be commenced on the basis of NEET 2018 score. Seat allocation will be done via centralized counseling organizeed by Dibrugarh University. Assam State Counseling will start post result releasement of NEET.

  • Rest of the 15% (All India Quota), Medical Council Committee will hold the counseling.
  • The Admission in different institutes via each quota will be done on the basis of Merit List prepared. The Merit List sorts aspirants on the basis of their performance in NEET 2018. 
  • In total, there are 726 MBBS and 40 BDS seats in the Assam.
  • The application form for Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018 will be available in the online method at DME, Assam official website, dmeassam.gov.in.
  • The counseling for the 85% state quota will be conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam.

NEET 2018 is unified national level medical entrance exam in which aspirants attempt papers of physics, chemistry and biology. The last date to submit clearly filled Application Form is expected to be in the first week of March 2018. The exam will be organizeed in the first week of May 2018. 

 Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018 Important Dates

As mentioned previous, the admission to medical and dental seats will be done via NEET. However, the state medical authority will organize Medical counseling for 85% of the total available seats. Notification regarding the commencement of counseling will be announced at dmeassam.gov.in and same will be updated at Collegedunia.com. Eligibility Criteria for Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018

Aspirants appearing for Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018 need to fulfil certain eligibility criteria. The Eligibility mentioned is compulsory and aspirants failing to meet any of the listed criteria will be removed from the procedure.

Nationality

  • The above condition will not be eligible to son/daughter of officers of All India Services working in Assam.
  • The participant should be registered citizen of Assam.
  • The parent of the aspirants must be living in Assam for not less than 20 years.

Academic Qualification

  • The aspirant must have appeared and qualified NEET 2018.
  • The participant must have studied from class 6 to 10 in the state of Assam.
  • The aspirant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 standard.
  • Participant must have passed 10+2 with 60% aggregate marks and for the aspirants belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H), /OBC/MOBC the at least need marks are 50%.

Age

  • For SC/ST Aspirants: The upper age limit mentioned above is relaxed by 3 years.
  • The aspirant must not be above 24 years or below 17 years of age on December 31, 2018.

Reservation of Seat 

Selection in Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018 will be made under 5 categories namely OC, SC, ST (Plains), ST (Hills) and PH reservations following the rules of reservation of the Government of Assam as follows. The remaining 60% of the seats are open for unreserved participants. The Seats are reserved for aspirants belonging to listed categories. Aspirants claiming reservation under certain categories need to current original document supporting their claim.

Application Form of Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018

The application form of Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018 will be available in the online mode. Below are the steps participants required to follow to fill the application form-

  1. Go to dmeassam.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018” link
  3. Read all the instruction and click on “Apply Now”
  4. Offer details like individual, academic, address and others
  5. Also, the aspirants required to upload the scanned image of their photograph and signature.
  6. Verify your details and proceed to “Submit”
  7. After successfully submitting the online application form, aspirants required to take print out of the e-challan and deposit requisite fee in any discipline of State Bank of India.
  8. It is to be noted that the aspirants will have to deposit INR 1240 (along with bank charges INR 60) an application fee on the second working day after the successful submission of the application form.
  9. The participant will receive the copy of challan showing the transaction Id after the submission of fee.
  10. Also, it is advised to the aspirants to take the print out of the Assam MBBS/BDS 2018 Application Form.
  • The size of the photograph should be between 35Kb to 20Kb
  • The login ID and password will be used further to login into the Assam MBBS 2018 Application Form
  • After filling all the details login ID of the aspirant will be created.
  • The pattern of the signature and photograph should either be .jpeg or .jpg
  • Size of signature should be between 30Kb to 15Kb.
  • The aspirants are advised to keep the password cautiously created at the time of making login ID.

Counseling Procedure for Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018

DME Assam will organize Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018 for registered aspirants only. Here are some important points and guidelines regarding Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018. Counseling will be organizeed in multiple rounds. At the end of each round, aspirants will be allotted seats as per their choices and position in the merit list.

  1. Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Counseling will be conducted in the offline mode
  2. The aspirant participating in the counseling process required to fill the separate application form (form B).
  3. The aspirants will have to pay INR 500 as the counseling fee.
  4. The aspirants required to be current with all the necessary documents before the admission committee.
  5. As per the merit list and order of the preference, the seat will be situated to the aspirant.
  6. The aspirant will have to pay the counseling fee in the interview round.

Documents Need in Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counseling 2018

Below are the documents need to be produced at the time of the verification.

  • Caste/Category Certificate (if eligible)
  • Recent passport-size photograph (4 copies)
  • Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) (to be alloted by D.C./S.D.O. (Civil) of concerning District/Sub-Division)
  • NEET 2018 Rank card
  • The Aspirants required to bring Form – B in the original duly and properly filled in along with all relevant annexure certificate attached with Form-’B’
  • NEET 2018 Hall Ticket
  • Class 10 Mark sheet and Certificate
  • Class 12 Mark sheet and Certificate
  • Character Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended
  • Academic Gap Certificate (if eligible)

Note: A set of all the documents mentioned above has to be submitted by the aspirants. These documents should be self-attested by the aspirants.
