About College

MICA (Formerly known as Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad) is one of the more known institution in India imparting education in Strategic Marketing and Communication. Located in Gujarat, MICA was established in the 1991 while its main academic block being set up in 1993 after relocating to its current campus at Shela, Ahmedabad.

The institute offers post graduate programs, fellowship programs and certificate programs in the fields of Marketing Research, Digital Communication Management, Brand Management, Media Management and Advertising Management, and Communication and Social Change.

MICA Admissions:

MICA imparts education in two modes namely Residential and Online. A total of 3 courses are offered on campus and 7 courses being offered in the online mode. Admission to the residential courses is through entrance tests conducted by MICA.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Communication

Selection to the PGDM program is a 3-Step process.

Step-1: Candidate must have appeared for any of the national level management aptitude test  (CAT, XAT or GMAT).

Step-2: Candidates need to take the MICAT entrance exam that is conducted twice in a year. MICAT is a computer based entrance test conducted by MICA. Candidates need to apply for the test with their CAT/XAT/GMAT results. The institute only accepts complete applications.

Step-3: In this step candidates are called for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI, both conducted by MICA. The candidates are called on basis of their performance in MICAT. GE and PI are conducted in 5 Cities in India i.e. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Fellowship Program in Management (FPM) in Communication:

  • Selection to the FPM is a 2-step process that involves a telephonic interview round and then a FPM Admission Test conducted by MICA
  • Candidates who are shortlisted in the telephonic round are called for test at MICA campus. FPM admission test is 3-day affair comprising of a written test, Individual Presentation and Personal Interview
  • Candidates with a master’s degree or a five-year integrated master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate are only eligible for applying to the program
  • One must have undergone the above mentioned programs in any discipline of the Social Sciences/Humanities/Business Management, having Communication/ Journalism/Advertising/ Public Relations/Media/ Marketing as a subject

Post Graduate Certificate Program in Crafting Creative Communication (CCC):

Admission to the Crafting Creative Communication (CCC) at MICA is based on a written test conducted by the institute. Any candidate can apply to the program. The written test is conducted online/through mail, the selected candidates are called for a personal interview at the MICA campus. The final selection is an amalgamation of the candidate’s performance in the entrance test and interview.
