Bombay Veterinary Science College (BVC), Mumbai was established in 1886 and inaugurated by Prof. J. H. Steel (father of modern Veterinary Journalism). The college is affiliated to Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU). It is accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). BVC is situated in compound of Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals. Certain buildings belonging to the Hospital were handed over to the Government for the use of the college. It offers Bachelor and Master courses in Veterinary science and Animal husbandry.
The college has separate accommodation for girls and boys with furnished rooms and uninterrupted power supply. College has well qualified teaching staff having the good experienced in the field of education. The main objective of the college is to provide advanced knowledge to the students in the fields of animal, dairy and fishery sciences by adopting innovative, efficient and effective strategies. The college has Collaboration with national and international industries, such as, Evialis, France, Provimi, Bangalore and Le-Saffre, France, Bharat Serums & Vaccines Ltd., Indian Immunological and Sandoz.
