  • Yashseekingrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) was founded in July 1989. University has its headquarters at Nasik. It is a member of associations like the Association of Indian Universities, Association of Commonwealth Universities, Asian Association of Open Universities, and Commonwealth of Learning, Canada. It is the fifth Open University in India.

    formerly known as Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU). It was established in July 1989 under section 12 (B) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) is the fifth Open University situated in Nasik, Maharashtra, India. The University is named later the Maharashtra’s great political leader and builder of modern Maharashtra "Yashwantrao Chavan". The University is the member of various prestigious associations and bodies like the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU), Commonwealth of Learning (COL). The headquarters of the YCMOU University is situated in Nashik. Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University offers various Undergraduate / Postgraduate/ Research / Diploma / Certificate courses under the different schools of Agricultural Sciences, Humanities and Social Science, Computer Science, Architecture, Science & Technology, Health Science, Commerce, and Management etc. All the bachelor's and master degree programmes are duly recognized and affiliated by the ‘University Grant Commission (UGC)’.

    University provides different courses having course level research; programmes in these course levels are discussed as following in different branches:

    The registration procedure for Ph.D. Programme is done by online mode on the official website of University.

    Steps to Apply-

    • Visit the Official website of University
    • Click on the "Student Zone" tab and further on "Admission" tab.
    • Fill all personal details in the registration form.
    • After successful registration, log in the website by using unique user id and password delivered on the registered mobile number.
    • Now fill the application form with correct educational details and personal details.
    • Click on the "Submit" Button.
    • Take 2 printouts of the application form.
    • Now pay the registration fee by Demand Draft in favor of "Finance Officer, YCMOU, Nashik" payable at Nashik of any Nationalized bank only.
    Send one copy of application form along with all the attested essential documents to the following address:

  • Aspirant must possess post graduation degree in Agriculture Sciences in first class and must clear Ph.D entrance examination.
