Visvesvaraya Technological University is a collegiate public state university in Karnataka State, India. It was founded by the Government of Karnataka. Every year, the university provides admission in different Under Graduate (Under Graduate), Post Graduate (Post Graduate) and Ph.D. courses.

B.Tech is a full-time 4-year program. To be qualified for admission to B.Tech program in Visvesvaraya Technological University, aspirants must have passed class 12 with Physics and Chemistry with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST).

The registration for admission to B.Tech program has started already. Aspirants have to pay an application fee of INR 3000 at the time of registration procedure.  Students who wish to apply can submit their application form on the official website of VTU.

The selection is done on the basis of written test KCET. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of aspirant’s performance in the entrance test. Eligible aspirants will be considered for admission.

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is a state level offline test organized for admission to undergraduate programs in Karnataka. For the academic year. The exam is organized in three parts- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology. Every question carries one mark, there is no negative marking for incorrect and unresponsive questions. Each paper consists of 60 multiple choice questions with the period of 70 minutes.

Visvesvaraya Technological University B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants who wish to apply for admission to B.Tech program in VTU, have to fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Participants must have passed class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subject along with any one of the following subjects, namely, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, and Electronics) from a recognized university or institute.
  • Students must have at least 45% marks in class 12 or equivalent examination.
  • There is a relaxation of 5% marks for reserved category aspirants (SC/ ST/ OBC).

The registration for admission to B.Tech program. Qualified aspirants can submit their application form on the official website of Visvesvaraya Technological University. Applications received after the due date will not be accepted.

All the information which is mentioned on the application form must be accurate and similar to the information of original documents. If any aspirant establishes unqualified at the time of admission procedure his/ her candidature will be canceled. All the information regarding admission procedure will be sent by email only. Students have to mention a valid email address or phone number on the application form.

  3. Select your applied program
  4. Fill the application form with all the need information
  5. Upload all the need documents and pay the application fee
  6. Verify all the information and click on submit button
  7. Take the print out for future reference.

Visvesvaraya Technological University B.Tech Selection Procedure

The selection procedure consists of written test. Eligible aspirants will be considered for admission. KCET. Aspirants who wish to apply must qualify the entrance test KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test).

Aspirants successfully eligible KCET can apply for admission to B.Tech program in VTU. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of aspirant’s performance in the written test.

Merit list for KCET will be published on the official website, i.e. kea.kar.nic.in. The merit list of eligible aspirants is prepared after evaluating their cumulative score of the opted subjects in class 12 or equivalent exam and in KCET.

KCET 2018 Counseling

Aspirants successfully eligible KCET, have to participate in counseling procedure which is organized by the official authority of KCET. KCET Counselling is organized in three rounds in both online and offline mode, for the convenience of Aspirants.

KCET Counselling has begun. Students will have to report for the document verification with the original documents as per the schedule announced by the authority. All the eligible Students taking admission to B.Tech program in Visvesvaraya Technological University through KCET, have to participate in the counseling.

Before participating in counseling, Students must complete their document verification to be able to go for option entry and other stages of seat allotment.
