VELS University, Chennai consists of various schools which provide under-graduate, post-graduate and research courses in diverse streams such as engineering, management studies, physiotherapy, hotel and catering management, mass communication, basic sciences, life sciences etc.

The university provides the following programmes in pharmaceutical sciences:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
  • Bachelors of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
  • Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)

For admission to the pharmacy programmes, the aspirant should have a pass in 10+2 with minimum 50% aggregate in physics, chemistry, maths or biology. Aspirant’s selection will be based on his/her performance in VelsEntranceExam (VEE) organized by the institute.

The aspirant can obtain application forms via a post by sending a demand draft for Rs. 850/- in favor of "The Registrar, Vels University". Aspirant can also download the application forms from the university website or apply online by submitting the procedure fee of Rs.800/-

VISTAS M.Pharm. & B.Pharm. Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm]

Eligibility: Aspirant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology / Botany & Zoology according to PCI norms.

Master of Pharmacy [M.Pharm] (Pharmaceutics)

Branches provided:

  1. M.Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
  2. M.Pharmacy (Pharmacology)
  3. M.Pharmacy (Pharmacognosy)
  4. M.Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Chemistry)
  5. M.Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Analysis)
  6. M.Pharmacy (Pharmacy Exercise)
  7. M.Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Biotechnology)

Eligibility: Aspirant must possess a degree in B.Pharmacy from recognised university and PCI. Those appearing for their final semester examination of the qualifying degree in the related year of admission are also applicable to apply.

Pharm.D

Eligibility: Aspirant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology / Botany & Zoology in accordance with the norms of PCI. Those appearing for their final semester examination of the qualifying degree in the related year of admission are also applicable to apply.

Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate)

Eligibility: Aspirant must have the degree in B.Pharmacy from a recognised university and PCI. Those appearing for their final semester examination of the qualifying degree in the related year of admission are also applicable to apply.

 

VISTAS M.Pharm. & B.Pharm. Admissions 2018 Application Procedure

For applying to Pharmacy programs of the Vels University, the aspirant can choose any of the following methods:

  • Aspirant can opt for applying online via the official website and the procedure fee can be submitted using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking payment modes
  • The aspirant can download application form and prospectus from the university website and send the duly filled-in applications, along with the procedure fee of Rs. 800/- via demand draft (DD), to the following address:

  • Aspirant can obtain the application form in person from the Office of Vels University, Chennai upon payment of the procedure fee of Rs.500/- in cash
  • The aspirant can also obtain the form by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with the DD of Rs. 550/- to the above-mentioned address. DD should  be drawn in favor of “Registrar, Vels University" payable at Chennai
  • In case of acquiring the application form in person or via post, the aspirant must enclose a DD of Rs. 300/- along with the filled-in applications

Enclosures:

At the time of admission, the aspirant must bring the original and photocopies of the following documents:

  1. 3 Passport Size photographs of the aspirant
  2. Two self-addressed stamped (Rs.10/-) envelope
  3. Mark Sheet of the qualifying examination or equivalent.
  4. Provisional Pass Certificate / Degree Certificate of the qualifying examination.
  5. Transfer Certificate and Organize Certificate from the Institute last studied.
  6. Community Certificate.
  7. Entrance examination mark sheet.

For Foreign aspirants:

Foreign aspirants must bring the following documents, original as well as photocopies, at the time of admission:

  1. No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, New Delhi. 
  2. Eligibility Certificate from the respective University
  3. Suitable Student Visa

Reservation Criteria

Students from under-privileged and socially handicapped sections are admitted to the University according to All India Reservation policy.

  • Scholarships provided:

Aspirants will be offered with scholarship according to their rank in the Vels entrance examination (VEE).

  • Hostel Facilities:

For men and women, there are separate hostels within the campus.  

  1. Laundry facility is available on chargeable basis.
  2. The medical attendant is available.
  3. Mess and canteen facility is available.
  4. Indoor and outdoor games are provided.
