Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), formerly known as the University College of Engineering, Burla, is a UGC recognized Unitary Technical University situated in Burla, Odisha. It is the oldest degree-granting engineering institute in Odisha, established as the University College of Engineering (UCE) in 1956. It is the best institute of technical education running under the government of Odisha.
The scholars of this institute have also been honored different accolades like the NASA award, and are very active in academic and Technical Events and Participated in 89 Seminars and Technical Design Competitions and won 17 prizes. The campus placement has resulted in many companies such as Wipro, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, CMC, and other appointing students from the University.
The University invites Applications for admission to the Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programme and Integrated M.Sc. Programme in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for the academic year 2016-17. The Programme is provided in the Full Time regular method for a period of 2 years and 5 years respectively. The number of available seats in each of the course is 18 seats.
The admission for M.Sc. programme will be based on academic career evaluation, whereas for Integrated M.Sc. Programme will be based on OJEE/AIEEE/VSSUT Test/similar National level test.

The University provides the five-year Integrated M.Sc. Programme in the following specializations:
Eligibility Criteria
For 2 year M.Sc. Programme: You must have passed B.Sc. Degree /+3 Science Degree with the proposed specialization as one of the subjects.
You will be applicable even if you have finished all academic requirements of the B.Sc. /+3 Science degree, but if your results are awaited.
For 5-year Integrated M.Sc. Programme: You must have passed the 10+2 Examination in science or equivalent with the related subject, from a recognized Board.
For both courses:
You should download the Application form from the University website, and then take a print out of the Application Form.
You should fill the Application Form with the need individual and educational details.
You must affix a recent color passport size photograph in the space offered. It must be attested by a Gazetted Officer or Employer with seal.
You must also mention whether you have qualified GATE/NET or any other Fellowship.
Application Fee: You must pay the non-refundable fee in the form of Demand Draft of Rs. 500 in case of general category and Rs. 200 in case of SC/ST category, in favor of VSSUT, Burla payable at SBI, Burla (Code-2034) or Syndicate Bank, VSSUT (Code-8062).
Enclosures: You should attach the attested copies of the following documents along with the Application:

You should then send the duly signed Application Form along with the self-attested copy of all supporting documents above by speed post only so as to access the Dean, PGS&R, VSSUT, Burla by June 13th, 2016.

For 2 year M.Sc. Programme:
Your selection will be on the basis of an open selection procedure via academic career evaluation. The evaluation for the purpose of admission will be based on one of the following schemes:
You will get points for Honours papers only if the honors subject matches with the branch you have applied for.
In case you have graduated from universities without any provision of “Honours” (additional papers), the marks scored in papers belonging to the branch applied for will be considered.
For 5-year Integrated M.Sc. Programme:
You will be selected on the basis of OJEE/AIEEE/VSSUT Test/similar National level test.
OJEE:
The paper is for a period of 2 hours with a total of 120 questions. Subjects from which questions would be asked in the exam will be Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. All the three sections of subjects will weigh equally. For each wrong response, one-fourth of the marks shall be deducted. The paper I will be held in offline and online method but Paper-II will only be held in offline mode. You will have to mark one response from the given set of 4 options. For any un-attempted question, no marks will be deducted.
You should be able to secure an at least of 45% marks in case of general category, and 40% marks in case of SC/ST category.
There would be negative marking for marking inaccurate responses. You will be asked multiple choice type questions in the exam.
The reservation criteria will be as per the norms prescribed by the Government of India.
