University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) situated in Dehradun, Uttrakhand was founded under UPES Act 2003. UPES provide admission in several Under-Graduate & Post-Graduate courses namely. &BFA. These courses have been provideed by various schools of studies under UPES. M.Tech, M.Design, B.Plan.

Students can secure admission by following the exam pathway (means exam organized by UPES itself) & Non-Exam Pathway (merit-based selection or entrance exam based on All India Level). JEE Main/NATA & CEED. The entrance exam will be organized on various dates at various enrollment offices of UPES. Apart from the UPES entrance test, the university also grants admission via other entrance tests of All India Level e.g. Students can apply via any of the online or offline modes. Students can appear for the tests as per their score & convenience.

UPES UG & PG Admission 2018 Eligibility Criteria

B.Planning

Students looking for admission have to choose whether they seeking to appear for the UPES entrance test which is UPAT or another way, via JEE-Main. Students have to fulfill the separate eligibility criteria with respect to the test, in which they seeking to, appear for the test.

Age Criteria:

Those students will be qualified to apply whose Date of Birth falls on or before October 01, 1994.

Eligibility Criteria with respect to UPAT:

Students must have passed SSC & HSC in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate along with Mathematics/Statistics or Business Mathematics as one of the mandatory subject.

Note: According to university guidelines a merit list based on Xth & XIIth marks will also be considered for admission. Merit list will comprise minimum 65% marks in aggregate along with Mathematics/Statistics or Business Mathematics as one of the mandatory subject.

Eligibility Criteria for admission via JEE-Main:

Students must have passed SSC & HSC with at least 50% marks in aggregate along with Mathematics/Statistics or Business Mathematics as one of the mandatory subject followed by valid score card of JEE Main or NATA.

Bachelor of Fine Arts [BFA] (Digital Art)

Students must have passed SSC & HSC in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate.

M.Des

  • Students with BFA of 4 year’s period or B. Des or B.Sc in Design along with 1 year of stabilisation course in Applied Arts with minimum 50% marks are also qualified to apply.
  • Students must have passed SSC & HSC with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
  • A student with B. Tech / BE in any stream or B. Arch degree are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Petroleum Exploration)

Students must have passed SSC & HSC with at least 60% marks in aggregate. This criterion is applicable to all specializations of M.Tech course.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Petroleum/Geo-Science/Geo-Informatics/Mechanical/Chemical stream or M.Sc in Geology/Geophysics with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Energy System Engineering)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Chemical/Instrumentation & Control with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Pipeline Engineering)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Petroleum/Mechanical/Chemical/Civil stream with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Procedure Design Engineering)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Petroleum/Chemical Technology/Chemical Engineering/Petrochemical Engineering with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Robotics Engineering)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Electronics/Mechanical/Instrumentation/CSE/Electrical/ Instrumentation & Control with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Artificial Intelligence)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in IT/CSE/EEE/ECE /Instrumentation & Control) with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Computational Fluid Dynamics)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Civil/Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Disaster Management)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil/ Industrial Safety/ Petroleum Engineering/ GeoScience Engineering/ Fire Safety Engineering/ Electronics or Geo Informatics with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Avionics/CSE/ECE/MECH/EEE/ EIE with minimum 60% marks within aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Offshore Structures)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Civil Engineering with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Renewable Energy Engineering and Management)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Electrical / Electronics / EEE / Mechanical / Chemical / Instrumentation & Control Engineering   with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Nuclear Science Engineering)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Mechanical/ Production & Industrial/ Mechatronics / Industrial Automation with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Note:

  1. Students who are going to appear for their final degree examination are also qualified to apply offered they produce their eligibility proof prior to October 30, 2016.
  2. Students who will not be able to clear their qualifying subjects in one sitting or say placed in compartment will not be qualified for any programme provideed by the university.
  3. Students with M.Sc. as qualifying degree require 60% marks in aggregate in B.Sc too.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Rotating Equipment)

Students who have passed B.Tech/B.E in Mechanical/ Production & Industrial/ Mechatronics / Industrial Automation with 60% marks in aggregate are qualified to apply.

Note:

  1. Students who are going to appear for their final degree examination are also qualified to apply offerd they produce their eligibility proof prior to October 30, 2016.

UPES UG & PG Admission 2018 How to Apply?

B.Planning, ME/M.Tech & M.Des

Candidates looking for admission can apply for different courses provideed by UPES via any of the online or offline methods within due dates.

Offline Mode:

  1. Students can obtain the information brochure & Application form from any of the listed enrollment offices of UPES namely, Dehradun, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad or Kochi after payment of INR 1750 as part of application fee.
  2. Students can also obtain the prospectus & application form via post after payment of INR 1850 in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of “UPES-Fee Account” payable at Dehradun or Delhi.

Online Mode:

  • After final submission of the application form, you have to pay the application fee by using credit/debit card or via net banking.
  • After submission of the form, you will receive an e-mail from UPES on the e-mail ID which you have offered at the time of form filling.
  • UPES has its own web-based application which allows students to submit their online application form, so to cater for this purpose they have to visit the official website of UPES.
  • You need to buy the application form by signing up initially. A sign-up form will be displayed on the screen which is needed to be filled by you completely (including the course which you seeking to pursue).
  • First students have to select their status, whether they are Indian or Foreign nationals.
  • Now by clicking on the given link, you have to proceed further by providing all the need details.

Note:

  1. Online application form submission procedure is applicable to those students who wish to submit the application in online mode
  2. Students are recommended to not to click on the ‘BACK’ button while filling the online application form.
  3. After submission of the application form, you must take print out of the application form.

UPES UG & PG Admission 2018 Selection Procedure

Bachelor of Fine Arts [BFA] (Digital Art)

Students have to appear for UPES-DAT, an online entrance test organized by the university. Shortlisted students, on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test, have to appear for subsequent rounds of Portfolio presentation & interview. Selected students will be separately informed for the interview through e-mail.

B.Planning

Students will be shortlisted on the basis of marks secured in UPES Planning Aptitude Test (UPAT).

In case of students applying via JEE Main or NATA, a merit list will be prepared by UPES admission authority to confirm the seat.

ME/M.Tech

Students will be selected on the basis of performance in UPES M.Tech Engineering Entrance Test (UPES-MEET). The student with valid GATE score is also qualified for UPES M.Tech programme. These students will be exempted from the university entrance test.

UPES-MEET is the online test of one hour period includes of total 60 questions from General Aptitude, English, Engineering Mathematics & General Engineering.

M.Des

Students have to appear for UPES-DAT, an online entrance test organized by the university. Shortlisted students on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test, have to appear for subsequent rounds of Portfolio presentation & interview. Selected students will be separately informed for an interview through e-mail.

Students can also apply on the basis of CEED score, & those students will be exempted from UPES-DAT.

UPES UG & PG Admission 2018 Scholarships

25% fee discount will be provideed to the students belong to Uttrakhand state offered they must fulfill the below mentioned conditions:

  • Those students who have passed class Xth & XIIth from Uttrakhand board are qualified for 25% fee waiver. This condition is relaxed for defense personal offered they produce the valid certificate regarding its approval.
  • Those students have qualified whose gross family income is not more than 3 Lakhs.
  • Students who have a ‘Sthai Niwas Praman Patra’ alloted by the Uttrakhand state.
