Founded in 1916 UOM [University of Mysore] is a public state university situated in Mysore, Karnataka, India. In addition to 122 affiliated colleges and five constituent colleges, the university has 37 postgraduate departments, eight specialized research and training centres, and two postgraduate centres that together provide a total of about 55 regular academic programmes. It runs a number of employment-oriented diploma as well as certificate courses and also provides research programmes such as Ph.D and M.Phil. under the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Science & Technology

Duly filled-in applications should be submitted along with need procedureing fee and necessary enclosures, on or before due date. Admission to the research programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the aspirants in the qualifying degree examination and Entrance Examination.

Application Procedure

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Commerce

  • Aspirants can obtain the application forms by post, by sending a requisition letter along with a DD for Rs. 300/- (Rs. 100/- towards the postal charges) drawn in favour of “The Finance Officer, UOM, Mysore”.
  • Aspirants can register for admission to M.Phil programme by filling the application forms and submitting the same along with the fee and supporting documents. Application forms can be obtained either online/by post/in person.
  • Aspirants can obtain the application forms in person from Cash Counter, Administrative Office, University of Mysore upon paying the need fee of Rs. 200/- in cash
  • Application forms can also be downloaded from the official university website. In such cases, aspirant must enclose a DD for Rs. 200/- drawn in favour of “The Finance Officer, UOM, and Mysore”. Aspirants must write his/her name and course in the back side of the Demand Draft.
  • Finished applications, in all respects, should access within the stipulated time to the following address:

Selection Procedure

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Commerce

Aspirants will be selected for the programme on the basis of their marks in the qualifying merit /entrance examination followed by the counseling session.
