Lucknow University is a state government university based in Lucknow. Selection to the Ph.D program will be based on Qualifying Entrance test (QET), followed by interview round. For admission to any program, aspirants must fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the university.
Lucknow University offers PhD courses in Arts, Science, Law, Commerce, Fine arts, Ayurveda and Education. It offers specialization in different undergraduate, postgraduate as well as research programs in arts, commerce and science streams.

  • The application fee for General/OBC aspirants is INR 800 and for SC/ST/ PH it is INR 400.
  • Some aspirants are exempted from giving QET entrance test organizeed by the University. Such aspirants will straight qualify for the interview round.
  • Aspirants who shall qualify QET will be called for interview procedure.
  • Interested and applicable aspirants must fill the Ph.D Admission form. 
  • Selection of the aspirant will be based on 60% interview marks and 40% academic qualifications.

Eligibility Criteria for Lucknow University Ph.D. Admission 2018

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Commerce

Aspirants must fulfil eligibility criteria offered below for admission to different PhD programs.
Aspirants must have minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC point scale in their respective Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equal to master’s degree shall be applicable for admission to the Ph. D. Programme.
For S.C./S.T./OBC/PH aspirants, qualifying marks shall be 50% at Master’s degree level.
Note: The students appearing for final year or final semester of their post-graduate degree examination will also be applicable to appear for the admission procedure subject to the fulfilment of at least eligibility criteria.


Application Procedure for Lucknow University Ph.D. Admission 2018 

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Commerce

Interested and applicable aspirants must visit the official website of Lucknow University i.e. www.lkouniv.ac.in. The step-wise application procedure is mentioned below:

Step 1Selection of Course - Participants have to select the Faculty and Course they are interested in. Size of both the scanned files must be correct.

Step 6: Preview - Participants can preview all the entries made. Once they have submitted the application fee the data submitted cannot be edited under any condition.

Step 7: Application Fee - Application fee for the General/ OBC category is INR 800 and for SC/ ST/ PH it is INR 400. If there is some mistake they can edit or can start the entire procedure again. They have to fill the subjects they studied in the final year of graduation and post-graduation.

Step 5: Upload photo and signature - Participants have to upload their present photograph and scanned signature. Aspirants are advised to read all the instructions before filling their interested PhD course.

Step 2Registration - Participants have to fill the relevant details in the form offered. If all the information offered by the aspirant in the application form is correct, the participant can submit the form and proceed for payment of the application fees.  Form fees can be submitted by any of the following ways - credit card, debit card, net banking and e– challan.

Step 8: Printout of the application form - Participants must print their clear application form and fee receipt to clear the application procedure.
 

Fill name, email id and mobile number cautiously because participants will receive their login details via mobile and email ID offered at the time of registration.

Step 3Individual Details - Participants have to enter their individual details i.e. name, father’s name and aspirant’s category etc.

Step 4: Educational Qualifications - Participants have to fill their educational qualifications.


Selection Procedure of Lucknow University Ph.D. Admission 2018 

Selection procedure will have 2 steps which are–

Step 1 - QET

Information regarding QET is given below

  • There will be a single question paper of 100 marks having 100 multiple choice questions and questions will check the subject proficiency and research aptitude of the aspirant.
  • QET will be of 90 minutes duration.
  •  The at least qualifying marks for QET will be 50%.
  • The syllabus of the QET will be the same as prescribed for the Post Graduate Programs of the university.

Note: QET will not be organizeed for the exempted aspirants
Step 2 - Interview
An interview will be organizeed for both the aspirants i.e. aspirants who will qualify QET, as well as QET, exempted aspirants. It shall consist of evaluating the aspirants based on the following parameters:

  • Individual Interview (PI)
  • A research proposal (400-600 words) in the area of research interest of the participants which will be submitted to the interview board.
  • A power point presentation of the stated research proposal by the participant must be presented in front of the interview board

Note: Aspirants must bring all the relevant documents during the interview.

Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the interview (60 %) and the academic index (40%) of the participants. The total result will be computed out of 100.
