UBKV (Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya) is a public agricultural university situated at Pundibari, West Bengal. The university was founded on February 1, 2001, and is affiliated to UGC, AICTE, and ICAR. The university has five faculties namely Agriculture, Horticulture, and Forestry which provide selected undergraduate, postgraduate as well as research courses.

Under the Faculty of Technology, the university provides only one programme i.e. B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering to students who have passed 10+2 (HSC) examination. Admission to the B.Tech course is done on the basis of marks secured in WBJEE and also via decentralized counseling in case seats are left vacant after admissions via WBJEE merit list.

To appear for WBJEE, aspirants can register themselves via the official examination website by submitting applications forms online along with the registration fees of Rs. 500/- via Online/ offline payment modes. In case of counseling for vacant seats, aspirants should register via the official university website within the stipulated time.

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Agricultural Engineering)

Aspirants should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board in regular class method with the following:

  • Individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects
  • Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST/ PWD/OBC-A/OBC-B aspirants) as well as pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of aspirants) in the stated qualifying examination.

For Vacant Seats:

The eligibility of the aspirants as per the order of preference is as follows:

  • Aspirants with WBJEE rank (General Merit Rank in Engineering).
  • Aspirants with JEE-MAIN  (Engineering & Technology) rank (All India Rank).
  • Aspirants with JELET rank who have passed Diploma Examination from an AICTE approved Institute with at least 45% marks ( 40% in case of Reserved Category aspirants) in Agricultural Engineering.
  • Aspirants with Engineering Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from an AICTE approved institution with at least 45% marks (40% in case of reserved Category aspirants)
  • Aspirants who possess B.Sc degree from a recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of Reserved Category aspirants) who have passed 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject.

Step To Apply

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Agricultural Engineering)

In case of appearing for WBJEE:

The aspirant must register themselves via the online application procedure available at the WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) website. The procedure consists of the following four steps:

  • Confirmation Page
  • Submission of application fee (Online/ Offline)
  • Online filling of application form
  • Uploading of necessary documents (Scanned images)

Enclosures (at the time of counseling):

  1. Printed Application Form duly signed by the aspirant
  2. Self-attested photocopy of WBJEE/JELET Rank Card (if applicable)
  3. Self-attested photocopy of age proof document (birth certificate/hall ticket/ school leaving certificate)
  4. Self-attested photocopy of marks sheets of Madhyamik (10th), H.S. (10+2) or equivalent examination and all other examinations passed
  5. Self-attested photocopy of SC/ST certificate (if applicable)
  6. Residential certificate from the competent authority
  7. In case of decentralized counseling for vacant seats:

    New participant must create an Account with a valid Email ID as important communication may be communicated to that registered email address. In case of old participants already registered, aspirants can use their Old Login details to apply

    Upon filling the application form with relevant information, aspirants should upload the given documents in digital form. (10+2)/equivalent mark sheet

    All scanned copies will be in a .jpg pattern only.

    • Signature of the guardian (Maximum size 20 kb)
    • Signature of the participant (Maximum size 20 kb)
    • Passport size photograph of the participant (Maximum size 20kb)

    Upon uploading all the documents, the aspirant should submit his/her final application and take a printout of it for future use.

    Note: No application fee is needed for final submission of application form. No document has to be sent to the University.

  8. Original character certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended
  9. Original Migration Certificate if applicable
  10. Original Annual Income Certificate of Father/Guardian allowed by the competent authority
  11. Original Residential Certificate allowed by the competent authority
  12. SIX copies of passport size color photographs (without attestation)
