UASR Under Graduate Admissions 2018

University of Agricultural Sciences (UASR), Raichur is a state agriculture university founded by the Government of Karnataka which imparts education, research and extension activities in the fields of agriculture, forestry, food science, agro-marketing and home science.

The University awards Merit Scholarships and General Scholarships based on the merit to the students of all the colleges as per regulation and also Free-Studentships as per the Government orders.

Graduates are recruited as agriculture scientists, agriculture officers in state and central governments, banks and other financial institutions such as insurance companies. With the setting up of commodity exchanges in India, degree holders in agriculture are in greater demand.

Aspirants from states other than Karnataka are not qualified to seek admission straight for all Under-graduate degree Programmes in the University. However, they can apply to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Agriculture)

A pass in two years PUC science examination of the Department of Pre-University Education, Government of Karnataka with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with any one science subject OR an inter-agriculture subject.

Offline method:

Application for admission shall be made to the REGISTRAR, UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, DHARWAD-580 005 on a prescribed form which may be obtained from the Registrar’s Office as per notification allowed from time to time on payment of the requisite fee in the form of demand draft.

Online method:

The application can also be downloaded from the university website and in such cases, the aspirants may send demand draft towards requisite application fees along with filled in applications.

NOTE: The application fees for UG Degree Programme is Rs.500/-(Rs.250/- for SC/ST/Cat-I aspirants)

* For admission to all the undergraduate degree programmes, the aspirants can submit a common application.

* Aspirants from foreign countries need to send their applications via the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi-110 001, India.

Selection Procedure

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Agriculture)

Selection will be made on basis of a merit list prepared according to marks obtained in the +2 level examination.

For the seats reserved for Agriculturists or Children/ward of Agriculturists, a method of admission shall be as under:

The merit list will be prepared based on 50% marks secured in PCB in II year PUC science and 50% marks secured in the Practical Test. Those aspirants who attend the Practical Test and score less than 100 marks will also be considered as ‘Not qualified’ for claiming seats under this quota.

The Practical Test shall be organized for 200 marks in the University on the specified date. The Practical Test shall consist of any or all of the following:

  1. Ploughing over a short length
  2. Yoking of Bullocks
  3. How to approach Cattle for milking
  4. How to hold a lamb or sheep
  5. Identification of Agricultural Implements
  6. Identification of Grains
  7. Identification of Agricultural Fertilizers / Manures
  8. Identification of Fruits / Vegetables
  9. Identification of Agricultural Crops
  10. Identification of Agricultural / Veterinary / Fishing Equipments
  11. Identification of Forest Species
  12. Identification of Fodder Crops
  13. Identification of Farm Animals
  14. Transplanting of Paddy
  15. Harrowing over a short length
  16. Seeds sowing
  17. Weeding
  18. Harvesting

The aspirants who fail to appear for the practical test will be considered as ‘Not qualified’.

Reservation Criteria

  1. 23.8% for agriculturist.
  2. Remaining 76.2% are general out of which further reservations are as follows:
  • Kannada Medium Study - 5%
  • Special categories - 12% (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Children of defense personnel or ex-servicemen/Sports quota etc.)
  • Rural - 15%
  • 15% – NRI’s.
