Founded by the government of Tamil Nadu in 1989, Tamil Nadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) was the first veterinary and animal sciences university to be found in Asia. Realizing the importance of education research in animal and fisheries sciences, the university thrives to increase its productivity towards better income generation for the resource-poor farmer by providing undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral programmes to its students.

The university provides the following Under Graduate Courses in its constituent colleges:

  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.)
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & AH)

Only aspirants with the relevant qualifying degree can register for admission to B.Tech and B.V.Sc. & AH programme via online application procedure available at the official university website. Selection of aspirants for these programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in qualifying degree examination. Interested aspirants can apply by filling the online application form and submitting it along with the need procedures fee via online payment modes.

Period of the programme: 5 years, Total Seats Available: 280

  • The following at least aggregate needs for various categories of aspirants:
  • Aspirants should belong to Tamil Nadu state and must have passed Higher Secondary Course (10+2) / CBSE / other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with the relevant subjects.
  • Aspirants ready to apply should be below the age of 21 Years as on 1st July of the admission year related. For SC/ST aspirants, there is no age limit.

The program is provided in the following three specializations:

  • Food Technology
  • Dairy Technology
  • Poultry Production Technology

Period of the programme: 4 years, Total Seats Available: 20 (per specialization)

Eligibility:

  • Aspirants ready to apply should be below the age of 21 Years as on 1st July of the admission year related. For SC / ST aspirants, there is no age limit.

BVSc & BE/B.Tech

Aspirants can apply for admission only via the online registration procedure, available on the university website.

After filling in all the relevant details in the application form, the aspirant should submit the need procedure fee via any of the following methods:

BVSc & BE/B.Tech

Aspirants will be selected for the above mentioned Under Graduate programmes on the basis of their performance in the 10+2 qualifying examination.

TANUVAS B.V.Sc. & AH & B.Tech. Admissions 2018 Reservation Criteria

As per the rules prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu, few seats are reserved for various community groups and aspirants belonging to special categories such as Differently abled, Sportspersons, Children of Freedom Fighter and Children of Ex-serviceman.

Aspirants may apply for a single course or more, via a single application, offered they submit the application procedures fees accordingly:

  • One Course - INR 600 (INR 300 for SC/SCA/ST)
  • Four Course - INR 2400 (INR 1200 for SC/SCA/ST)
  • Three Courses – INR 1800 (INR 900 for SC/SCA/ST)
  • Two Courses - INR 1200 (INR 600 for SC/SCA/ST)
