The research programmes offered by Shivaji University has various specialisations for aspirants from various fields. In an interview, aspirants need to discuss their research proposal with the panel constituted by the University. A final merit list will be prepared for selecting aspirants for which 50% marks of qualifying exams, 40% marks scored in entrance test and 10% marks of entrance test will be considered. There is also a relaxation for those aspirants who have qualified UGC-CSIR-NET / SLET / SET / GATE /P.G.D.T.E./ BET/GPAT exams. For M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes, aspirants need to apply online to the University and send a research proposal describing their research interest. Such aspirants are needed only to appear for the interview. For the syllabus of GATE will be considered in the exam. The entrance test will be based on the syllabus of post graduation courses except for engineering students. Selection for research programmes is made on the basis of entrance test followed by an interview.

Eligibility: Aspirants need to have done a Master’s degree in arts/commerce or M.Sc./B.Tech in relevant specialisation from any recognized University to be applicable for the M.Phil. Programme.

How To Apply for SU (Shivaji University) M.Phil, Ph.D Admission 2018

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

Aspirants need to fill the application form on website Application form is available online only. Entrance examination fee for each subject is INR 200 which is to be submitted in form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Finance and Accounts Officer, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

The application form along with the Demand Draft is to be submitted to the related department either by post/courier or by a person.

Aspirants can also avail the copy of course directory by paying a sum of INR 100 to the University in form of cash or Demand Draft drawn in favour of Finance and Accounts Officer, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

NOTE: If course directory is demanded via post then a sum of INR 30 extra is to be paid by the aspirants.

User facts:

  • There is also a provision to accepted application form with a super late fee of INR 500.
  • Applications are accepted after the last date of submission with a late fee of INR 100.
  • If there are less than 10 aspirants allotted to an examination centre then that centre is subjected to cancellation and information regarding this will be made available on the University website.

Need documents to be sent to the university:

  • Migration certificate
  • 12 copies of research proposals
  • Copy of professional experience and published research work wherever necessary.
  • Marks card of Post Graduation


Admission Procedure of SU (Shivaji University) M.Phil, Ph.D Admission 2018

M.Phil. (Arts) & M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

  • Selection to Ph.D. and M.Phil courses are made on the basis of entrance test followed by an interview. The question paper will contain 50 MCQs of 2 marks each.  The period of the exam will be of one and half hour.
  • The examination is organizeed in both online and offline mode. 50% marks of qualifying exam, 40% marks of entrance test and 10% of the interview will be considered to form a merit list for selecting aspirants.

NOTE:

Those aspirants who have qualified UGC-CSIR-NET / SLET / SET / GATE /P.G.D.T.E./ BET/GPAT are exempted from appearing in the entrance test and they only required to appear in the interview.

Those aspirants who seeking to do research in engineering and technology, entrance test format for them will be based on GATE syllabus.

Scholarships:

  • Apart from the various schemes for scholarships offered by the government authorities, University has their own provision to offer a scholarship to deserving aspirants. 
  • University announces about 500 scholarships of INR 5000 and INR 10000 which is given to deserving aspirants enrolled with the University under the scheme of Shivaji University Merit Scholarship Scheme (SUMS).
In an interview, aspirants need to discuss the area of research.
  • A final merit list will be prepared for selection on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exam, entrance test and interview. The format for entrance test will be strictly based on the syllabus of post graduation programme.
  • On the basis of this entrance test, a merit list will be prepared for organizing the interview.
