Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, known as SASTRA University, is a deemed university which provides undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in different streams such as Engineering, Science, Education, Management and Arts.

SASTRA University offers several various courses, apart from the B.Tech. Some of the programmes comprised in this category are B.C.A., B.Com., B.B.A., B.Sc., M.C.A., M.Com., and M.Sc. programmes, at undergraduate and postgraduate level. and M.Tech.

Aspirants will be admitted to these programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in the respective qualifying examination. If shortlisted, aspirants will be intimated for counseling by the university.  

Applicable aspirants can register themselves via the online application procedure by submitting finished forms, along with the need fee, within the stipulated time.

Eligibility Criteria for SU (Sastra University) UG and PG Admissions 2018

B.Sc , B.Com & BCA

For admission to the above mentioned Under Graduate programmes, one should satisfy the following at least criteria:

  • Aspirant should have passed 10+2 with a central/state board of examination which is recognised by the branch of study of SASTRA University with a bare at least of 50%
  • Aspirant should have studied the branch subject at higher secondary level as a main subject and secured an at least of 50% aggregate


Aspirant should have finished B.Ed. from any university recognised by SASTRA University


The aspirant should have done any of the following courses – B.Sc. in Maths/Statistics/ Physics/ Chemistry/Computer Science/IT or BCA /BCS. Along with this, aspirant should have opted for mathematics in his/her Higher Secondary Examinations as the main subject


Aspirant should possess a bachelors degree from a recognised university


The university provides M.Sc. in the following streams:

  1. Biochemistry
  2. Biotechnology
  3. Chemistry
  4. Mathematics
  5. Microbiology
  6. Physics

Eligibility: Aspirant should possess bachelors degree in the branch subject which is comprised as the main subject

How To Apply for SU (Sastra University) UG and PG Admissions 2018?

B.Sc , B.Com & BCA

  • Aspirants should deposit the registration fee of INR 650 for each course via online method of payment through debit/credit cards. The fee can also be submitted via Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of SASTRA University and payable at Thanjavur, along with the print out of the duly-filled application.
  • Applicable aspirants can register themselves by filling the application form available on the university website. The aspirant should fill-in the application with all the relevant details and also submit the procedures fee along with it.

Aspirants will be selected to the above-mentioned programmes on the basis of their performance in the qualifying examination as specified in the eligibility criteria. University will select the aspirants on the basis of their score as per the university norms and requirement.

At the time of the counseling and final admission, students should bring the following documents with them:

  • Marksheet and Provisional Certificate of Bachelor degree (if eligible)
  • Work-ex proof (if any)
  • Provisional Certificate
  • Marksheets and Certificates of 10 and 10+2
  • Migration Certificate (if eligible)

Hostel Facility:

In total, 14 hostels are offered by the university for boys and girls, and messes are run on a dividing system
