St. Peter's University, Chennai founded in 2008 but previous it was functioning as St. Peter's Engineering College which was founded in the year 1993 with all the programmes certified by NBA AICTE and it is coeducational engineering institution. St. Peter's Institute of Higher Education & Research, Chennai has invited application for registration to Full time, Part time (Internal) and Part-time (External) Ph.D. programme (II Session) in the specializations as follows for the Academic Year 2018

Admission to these programmes is made via marks secured by the aspirant in the university entrance examination For research programme admissions are done via entrance examination and interview organized. Aspirants can register themselves by submitting an application form and by sending D.D of INR1000/- along with photocopies of relevant original certificates. University issues the notification for Research admissions two times a year.

M.Phil/Ph.D in Science , M.Phil/Ph.D in Management & M.Phil/Ph.D in Engineering

Eligibility: Those students who have obtained a full time post graduate degree from St. Peter’s university or any other university with at least 55% marks will only be qualified for M.Phil course. Students with masters in Arts/Science or MBA/MCA degree with 55% marks are also qualified to apply.

Ph.D.: Students must have the relevant master’s degree (Full time/part time/evening) or equivalent as recognized by the university with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.

Ph.D Engineering/Technology: Students looking for admission must have passed M.Tech/M.E. in the desired field.

Ph.D Humanities: Students looking for admission must have passed MA/M.Sc or MCA (Full time/part time/evening) in relevant field.

PH.D Management: Students looking for admission must have passed MBA (Full time/Part time).

Important Facts for Full-Time Ph.D. Programme:

  1. Students who seek to pursue Ph.D. in full-time method shall be available during working hours in the University for Curricular Activities.
  2. Students in employment, and seeking to pursue full-time Ph.D. should be sponsored by their employer & must avail the leaves to complete their research work.
  3. AICTE sponsored students, under quality improvement programmes & teachers of engineering colleges will be qualified for the full-time method only.
  4. Students who are selected for fellowship programmes via any national or recognized bodies will be qualified for the full-time method only.
  5. Sponsored students from Government of India are also qualified for the Full-time study.

Note: Students under a Full-time method of study can apply for the part-time method of the study after approval.

Important Facts for Part-Time Ph.D. Programme:

  1. Full-time teachers of St. Peter’s University only, can apply for part-time Ph.D.
  2. Students working in this university under government/central/totally funded or quasi-government projects can go for the part-time mode.

  • If documents verification is not matched then admission of that aspirant will be canceled.
  • Xerox copies of all the certificates along with application form should be in English only and send to the address:
  • The application fee once submitted will not be refunded back.
  • The aspirant can obtain application form by sending DD of amount Rs 1000/- in favor of St.Peter's Institute of Higher Education & Research payable at Chennai.

Selection Procedure

  1. Selection of the aspirant is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying entrance examination and the interview organized.
  2. Selection of the aspirant is done only after the verification of eligibility as per university regulations.

  • TV room, readings rooms, recreation halls and doctor facility is also available.
  • Separate hostels are available for boys and girls with 164 and 156 rooms respectively with attached bathrooms.
