Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, founded in the year 1993, under the aegis of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, as a modern super specialty hospital, and was granted the status of a university in the year 1995 by an act of A.P. State legislature. The major objectives of SVIMS comprise service, training, and education in advanced medical sciences and technology. Latest technology in the diagnostic wing and total computer automation of patient care has been implemented in this institution for the first time in our Country.
SVIMS has been recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) since 2003 for organizing different DM, MCh and MD courses. The government of India has also comprised SVIMS as one of the institutions for the up-gradation at par with AIIMS, New Delhi under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
The University invites Applications for admission to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Programme in different specializations for the academic year 2018-19. The application procedure is to begin on March 24th, 2018. The admission will be based on the Entrance Test (SVIMSPGCET 2018) organized by the University and to be held on April 24th, 2018. The entire application procedure is online and the applications must be submitted by April 11th, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria:
You must apply online via the University website.
Step 1: You should navigate to link “Apply On-line SVIMSPGET-2018”.
Step 2: After reading the Prospectus cautiously, you must click “Apply Online” and then click “Register” for opening Basic Registration Page.
Step 3: You must then create an account using a valid e-mail id, your name and Mobile Number. The signature may be scanned, cropped and saved in 500 kb in a .jpg/.jpeg pattern. The system will generate an application ID.
Step 4: You can then log in to the application using the application number and password which has been sent to your registered email id and registered mobile number by way of SMS offered during the registration procedure.
Step 5: Fee payment: You have to pay an amount of Rs.2000 plus taxes via online method Debit / Credit Card/ Internet Banking.
Step 6: You will then be directed to the Individual Details page. (If not available, computerized marks statement of all the years prepared in a single sheet and attested by Principal/ Gazetted officer to be uploaded)
Step 7: Photograph: You should upload a recent color passport size photograph with the light background in the size not more than 500 kb in a .jpg/.jpeg pattern.
Step 8: Signature: You should then upload your signature which should be inserted in an area of 2” x 1” (inch) on white paper with the thick black ballpoint pen. The signature may be scanned, cropped and saved in 500 kb in a .jpg/.jpeg format.

Step 10: You should check if your application is finished in all aspects, and then only click “SUBMIT”. This will generate registration slip. You should take a print out of the “application” for future reference.
You will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Test organized by Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati i.e., SVIMSPGET-2016
The entrance examination is common to all the post-graduate courses and consists of 150 questions of multiple choice type. Each response with accurate answer shall be honored one mark. The exam is computer based, i.e., it is organized online.
You should be able to secure an at least of 50% marks for open category, 45% marks for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs and 40% marks for SC, ST and Backward Classes.
There is no negative marking for the inaccurate answer. The period of the exam is 135 minutes. All the questions will be of one best/ accurate answer type having four alternatives.
The statutory reservations will be eligible to the aspirants of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward classes belonging to the State of Andhra Pradesh only.
