SVIMS (Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences), Tirupati, founded in the year 1993, under the aegis of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, as a modern super specialty hospital, and was granted the status of a university in the year 1995 by an act of A.P. State legislature. Latest technology in diagnostic wing and total computer automation of patient care has been implemented in this institution for the first time in our Country.  The major objectives of SVIMS comprise service, training, and education in advanced medical sciences and technology.

SVIMS has been recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) since 2003 for organizing different DM, MCh and MD courses. The government of India has also comprised SVIMS as one of the institutions for the up-gradation at par with AIIMS, New Delhi under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

The University invites applications from NRI and NRI Sponsored aspirants for the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Programme.

Eligibility

  • Common for both NRI/NRI sponsored category:

You must have passed the Intermediate examination (10+2 format) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology)/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) / Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.

Age: You should have finished 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

  • For NRI category: You required to be the ward of an NRI belonging to Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana States.
  • For NRI sponsored: You should have blood relation to the sponsor who can be in the form of father, mother, brother or their children, sister or their children, maternal uncle or his children, maternal aunt or her children, paternal uncle or his children, paternal aunt or her children, maternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother.

Step To Apply

MBBS

You should download the Application Form from the University website.

You should take a print out of the Application form and then fill it with the need for personal and educational details.

You should also affix a recent colored passport size photograph in the space offered.

Application Fee: You should pay the following Application fee in the form of a Demand Draft (from any Nationalization Banks) drawn in favor of Secretary, BIE, A.P., Hyderabad

  • Rs. 500 in case you have studied in India.
  • Rs. 1000 in case you have studied abroad.

Enclosures: You should attach the following enclosures along with the Application:

  • Transfer certificate or School / College as the case may be.
  • Original Pass Certificates of 10th & 12th standard/class as the case may be.
  • Marks Memorandum list of 10th & 12th standard/class as the case may be.
  • Letter from the Indian Embassy – in case you have studied abroad
  • Migration Certificate allowed by the related Board.
  • Written/typed representation/application addressed to the Secretary, BIE, A.P. Hyderabad

You should send the duly signed Application Form along with the need documents and the Demand Draft to Secretary, BIE, A.P. Hyderabad.

Admission Procedure

MBBS

You will be selected on the basis of merit i.e., on the basis of marks obtained in the 10+2 Examination. A separate merit list will be prepared under NRI & NRI sponsored category.

Those who got selected via Dr. NTR UHS, Vijayawada for admission into SVIMS, Sri padmavathi medical college for women under merit category shall report at the medical college office within the stipulated date and submit the following original documents at the time of reporting for the admission.Allotment order issued via Dr.NTR UHS

Recently obtained caste certificate for SC/ST/BC categories

Residence certificate (those who studied in an unrecognized institution or studied outside the state of AP/TS but resided within the state) for claiming under un-reserved category.

Four Passport size photos two stamp size photos

Custodian Certificate : If the Aspirants already admitted in any course in other college, such Aspirants has to produce Custodian Certificate from the Head of the Institution/university, admission order, photo copies of all the certificates attested via the Principal/Gazetted officer.

An Anti-ragging affidavit duly signed via self and parent / guardian. The affidavit is available in the website www.aman movement.org.

Reservation Criteria

The statutory reservations will be applicable to the aspirants of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward classes belonging to the State of Andhra Pradesh only.

  • Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favor of the local aspirants in relation to S.V University region comprising the districts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor, Cuddapah, and Nellore in the following distribution:

  • There shall be 3% reservation (horizontal basis) for differently-abled (PH) with the locomotive disability of lower limbs between 50% - 70%.
  • 33.33% of seats are guaranteed for women aspirants in each category i.e. open competition, SC, ST, BC and other reservations.
