Sri Ramachandra University MD and MS Admissions 2018

Sri Ramachandra University, Porur, Chennai was founded in the year 1985 as a non-profit, self-financing private Institution. The objective of the university is to raise and develop major medical establishments in the country. This university is among the few medical institutes which have sanctioned 250 seats in MBBS degree.

The university provides different courses which comprise postgraduate (PG) programmes as an integral part of the curriculum. These course levels are discussed as following in different branches:

Postgraduate courses:

  • MD (in 18 branches) – 3 years
  • M.S (in 5 branches) – 3 years

Admission to the above mentioned programmes is via marks secured by the aspirants in the university entrance examination which is open to all aspirants from any state or union territory of India.

Aspirants can register themselves by submitting application fees of Rs 500/- for above mentioned courses.

The application will be rejected if sent without relevant certificates.

The eligibility criteria for MD and MS programs provided at Sri Ramachandra University has been explained below:

MD

  • M.D. TB and Pulmonary Medicine - (3 seats)
  • M.D. Forensic Medicine - (2 seats)
  • M.D. Anaesthesiology - (12 seats)
  • M.D. Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy - (6 seats)
  • M.D. Paediatrics - (12 seats)
  • M.D. Anatomy - (6 seats)
  • M.D. Emergency Medicine - (2 seats)
  • M.D. Radio-Diagnosis - (12 seats)
  • M.D. Psychiatry - (2 seats)
  • M.D. General Medicine - (12 seats)
  • M.D. Physiology - (5 seats)
  • M.D. Community Medicine - (4 seats)
  • M.D. Sports Medicine - (1 seats)
  • M.D. Biochemistry - (4 seats)
  • M.D. Pharmacology - (4 seats)
  • M.D. Microbiology - (6 seats)
  • M.D. Pathology - (10 seats)
  • M.D. Immuno-Haematology & Blood Transfusion Medicine - (2 seats)

Eligibility:

  • Aspirants under the internship duration are also applicable to apply if it ends on or before March 31, 2016
  • The aspirant must possess recognised MBBS degree with finished CRRI internship and must have permanent registration of his/her name with any state medical council

MS

  • M.S. Obstetrics & Gynaecology - (16 seats)
  • M.S. Otorhinolaryngology - (6 seats)
  • M.S. General Surgery - (16 seats)
  • M.S. Ophthalmology - (6 seats)
  • M.S. Orthopaedics - (18 seats)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess recognised MBBS degree with finished CRRI internship and must have permanent registration of his/her name with any state medical council
  • Aspirants under the internship duration are also applicable to apply if it is finished on or before March 31, 2016

How to apply for MD and MS Program?

MD & MS

  • The aspirant can submit an application to the university along with the DD of Rs. 500/- in favor of"Sri Ramachandra University" payable at Chennai.
  • The aspirant can obtain prospectus and application form from the website “www.ramachandra.edu.in”.

Enclosures:

  1. MBBS/BDS Degree Course Mark Statements pertaining to the First year to Final year
  2. Consolidated Statement of Marks
  3. Attempt Certificate (First year to Final year)
  4. Community Certificate (SC/ST/BC/OBC Aspirants must enclose the photocopy of the Certificate)
  5. Photocopy of Birth Certificate
  6. MBBS/BDS Provisional Pass Certificate - I/II or Degree Certificate
  7. Internship Certificate
  8. State Medical Council’s/State Dental Council’s Permanent Registration Certificate
  9. Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate/HSC Mark Statement
  10. Organize Certificate allowed by the Head of the Institution last studied.

Admission Procedure of MD and MS Program

MD & MS

  • Aspirants must have secured at least 50% marks in the entrance exam. For SC/ST and OBC aspirants, 40% marks are needed.
  • If multiple aspirants secure same marks in the entrance examination then the selection will be based on their academic performance.
  • Aspirant will be rejected if he/she is established to be involved in ragging.
  • Only medically fit aspirants are selected to take admission.
  • To get admission in the Post Graduate courses aspirant should have successfully finished the course at the time of admission.
  • Selection of the aspirant will be based on the marks secured in the entrance examination organized by the university.
