Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU), formerly the University of Pune was established in 1948. It has been given the highest โ€œAโ€ rating by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council for its overall performance. The University is home to 46 academic departments. The University has now been ranked 3rd in India by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. It is famously known as the 'Oxford of the East'. The University has affiliated colleges, departments, and research institutes, which are primarily in Pune. It has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges providing graduate and undergraduate courses.  More than 70 Research Institutions have been recognized by the University.

Centre for Performing Arts at Savitribai Phule Pune University is famously known as Lalit Kala Kendra. The uniqueness of this course is very evident that for the first time in India full time, Professional and Residential courses in Dance, Music, and Theatre with GURUKUL Format, are provided to the students under one umbrella on the University campus by incorporating the traditional Guru-shishya parampara (Guru-Disciple Relationship) in the syllabus. The center provides courses in Performing Arts on the self-supportive basis.

The University invites applications for admission to the BA Programme in Art, Music, Dance and Theatre at the Centre for Performing Arts for the academic year. The applications are available online and must be submitted by the university. The admission to the programme will take place via an Entrance Test and Performance Test organized separately for each branch.

You should have passed the H.S.C. Examination from any recognized statutory Board /University in India or equivalent examination.

Step to apply you will have to register for

the Application Form online. or Bank of Maharashtra) or Online Payment via bank transfer. Here if you seeking to update any filled information you can update it by clicking on Uthe pdate button. You should log on to the website and select the subject that you are applying for. You must choose any one you wish to pay via and click on Submit. Then, the Bank Challan will be get generated. Two payment modes are available i.e. Cash (at any discipline of HDFC Bank Ltd.

Once you are the registered user of this system, after clicking on the Link Online Entrance form you will be in a position to fill an Application form for an entrance examination of your desired Subject.

You must fill a outll the information cautiously as per the given instructions. Once you fill all the details, click on the "Submit" button.

Then you can see the preview of your filled Application form. You have now finished the online application procedure. On that preview t,h ere are two options Print and Update.

You should then paste your passport size photograph on the space offerd on the printout of Appthe lication form, submit your Application form along with the need documents in an A4 size envelope with your name and complete postal address written on the reverse side of envy the lope, to the following address of Centre for Performing Arts:

Or else if your filled information is accurate then take a printout straight by clicking on Print button.

Application Fee: You should pay the application fee of Rs. 900 for general category and Rs. 650 for reserved category of Maharashtra state only. You must take print of this challan (by clicking the link the "Print Challan") and pay cash in cash counter of any discipline of selected bank.  
  • Online Payment: If you select payment method as Online Payment, click on Submit, you will be get redirected to University Online Payment Gateway. 
  • You should now click on โ€œConfirm and Printโ€ button. You should select any one of payment modes appropriate to you.

    1.  If you select payment method as Cash, you will get 2 options for a bank the as HDFC Bank or Bank of Maharashtra.

    Selection Procedure

    You will be selected on the basis of an entrance test and a Performance Test organizeed by the Centre for Performing Arts.

    Reservation Criteria

    As per Government of Maharashtra Rules:

    • 3% seats are reserved for physically handicapped students
    • 30% seats are reserved for female aspirants for Graduate courses
    • 50% seats are reserved for SC, ST, DTNT & OBC
    • 5% seats are Reserved for children of Defence Personnel or Ex-Servicemen; and
