Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University (SOA) was formerly Institute of Technical Education and Research and was granted the stature of a deemed to be the university in 2007. At current, the university provides UG, PG, and Research courses in multiple branches via its nine degree-granting schools and colleges. The university has been granted “A Grade” by NAAC for its high standards both in terms of academics and infrastructure.

In the field of Hotel Management, the University provides admission to the Bachelor in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT), Lateral Entry in BHMCT, Master of Hospitality Management (MHM) and Master of Tourism & Travel Management (MTTM) Programme. The BHMCT Programme is for a period of 4 years whereas the MHM and MTTM Programmes are for a period of 2 years each.

The entire application procedure is online and must be finished by April 16, 2017. The admission for the programmes will be based on SAAT 2017 (Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University Admission Test) Examination which will be held between April 22-25 2017. The University will organize counseling procedure for aspirants who qualify SAAT 2017.

SOAU Hotel Management Admission 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology [BHMCT]

BHMCT Programme (Lateral Entry)

Eligibility Criteria:

The aspirant must have passed or should be appearing in 10+2 examination (in the year 2017) from any stream, Science, Commerce or Arts, with minimum 45% marks in case of general category and 40% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC category.

Aspirants with Diploma degree in Hotel Management can apply for BHMCT Lateral Entry Programme.

Master of Hotel Management [MHM]

MTTM Programme

Eligibility Criteria:

For both MHM and MTTM Programmes:

The aspirant must have finished their graduation in any stream (Science, Commerce or Arts) from any recognized University with minimum 50% marks in case of general category and 45% in case of SC/ST/OBC category.

SOAU Hotel Management Admission 2018 Application Process

For SAAT:

You can reach the Application Form online on the University website.

Step 1: Visit the official website and click on the tab for the online application form. The application form will be sent to your email inbox as well.

The acknowledgment of the receipt of the SAAT 2017 application will be intimated to your Email-Id and Mobile Number via SMS.

You must enter the OTP to proceed to the Application Form.

Step 3: Fill in the Form with the need individual and educational details.

Step 4: Upload the scanned copy of your photograph and signature. Your photograph should be recent color passport size photograph

Step 5: Submit your Application Form by clicking on the “Final Submission” tab.

Step 6: Download your Application Copy and take a print out of the application form for future reference. You must fill in your Name, Date of Birth, Email id, and Mobile number.

Step 2: You will receive an OTP on your mobile number after filling the above-mentioned information.

SOAU Hotel Management Admission 2018 Selection Process

Aspirants will be selected for Hotel Management on the basis of SAAT 2017 (Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University Admission Test) Examination. There is no penalty for unresponsive questions. The number of questions will be 60 per each hour of exam. Each question will have four probable responses with only one accurate response.

For Under Graduate course in Hotel Management, the questions will be asked from General Reasoning, Language, and Aptitude of 10+2 level. For every accurate response aspirant will be honored 4 marks and for every wrong response, one mark will be deducted from the total. In case of Post Graduate courses, the test paper will have subject specific questions.

However, there will be a separate paper for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The paper will have multiple-choice type questions.

Reservation Criteria

  • 15% and 7.5% seats in all programmes are reserved respectively for aspirants belonging to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe by birth (not by marriage or adoption). SC/ST aspirants from Odisha who are staying outside the state have to produce SC/ST certificate from the competent authority of Odisha State during counseling.
  • 3% seats are reserved for physically handicapped (PH) aspirants.
  • 30% of seats under each category for all the programmes are reserved for women aspirants.
