SGBAU B. Tech and M. Tech Admission 2018

Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU) is a public university which was founded in 1983. It is recognized under UGC act of Ministry of Education and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. It is situated at Amravati in the Vidarbha region of the state of Maharashtra, India. The university provides the following postgraduate courses to its students every year: The university provides the following programmes in the faculty Engineering & Technology:

  • Master of Technology (M. Tech.)
  • Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.)

Selection of the aspirants to the above-mentioned programmes via state common entrance test i.e. MHT-CET 2018 to be organized by the Maharashtra Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). The aspirant can register themselves for B.Tech./M.Tech. programme by submitting duly filled-in applications, along with the procedure fee of Rs. 800/- for (open category) and Rs. 600/- for (reserved category).

Eligibility Criteria

BE/B.Tech

The aspirant must be an Indian National and must have passed the HSC or 12th examination or its equivalent examination

ME/M.Tech

  • The aspirant should be an Indian National and must possess Bachelor degree in the relevant course of Engineering/Technology.
  • The aspirant should have passed bachelor degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology from State Governments/MHRD approved institutions with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% marks for backward categories belonging to Maharashtra state only).

Eligibility of NRI/ Foreign National / PIO category aspirants:

  • The aspirant should be Foreign National / Person of Indian Origin /Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/son and daughter of NRI
  • The aspirant should have passed Bachelor degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology from State Governments with at least 50 % Aggregate marks.

Application Procedure

BE/B.Tech

  • Aspirants can obtain the brochure and can also register themselves via the online application procedure from the official website of SGBAU.
  • For online registration, candidate should login to "www.mhtcet.co.in" and click on MHT CET 2018 Registration linkUpon successfully entering the personal information, contact info and educational details on the link, the candidate will receive an email confirming the registration
Then, he/she should download the generated Bank challan and submit the prescribed fees via it at any discipline of State Bank of India after 48 hours of registration
  • The aspirant should login after 24 hours of making the payment for confirming payment details in their profile. Upon successfully entering the personal information, contact info and educational details on the link, the aspirant will receive an email confirming the registration
  • Next, the aspirant should upload his/her scanned photograph and signature in jpeg pattern only.
  • For online registration, aspirant should login to "www.mhtcet.co.in" and click on MHT CET 2018 Registration link. The aspirant should generate the MHCET Registration Confirmation Page and save it for future references

    Note: Application fee is Rs. 800/- for (open category) and Rs. 600/- for (reserved category)

    ME/M.Tech

    • Aspirants can register themselves by submitting the online application form available at DTE Maharashtra Portal.
    • Candidate must also pay the processing fees using net banking facility available on the web portal. Application form fee is Rs. 700/- (for General category candidates of Maharashtra state) and Rs. 500/- (for reserved category candidates and Persons with Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State)
    • The aspirant must also pay the procedure fees using net banking facility available on the web portal. The aspirant should premature the attested receipts of the payment for future references

    Enclosures:

    1. Certificate of Indian Nationality
    2. Statement of marks of HSC and SSC
    3. Statement of marks for the Bachelor’s Degree Examination
    4. Caste certificate (if applicable)
    5. Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate (if applicable)
    6. Non Creamy Layer certificate
    7. Domicile certificate of aspirant’s father/mother (if applicable)
    8. Domicile certificate of aspirant: In case of Type-A aspirant In lieu of Domicile certificate aspirants should produce Birth Certificate of aspirant indicating the place of birth in Maharashtra OR School Leaving Certificate indicating the place of birth of aspirant is in Maharashtra
    9. Receipt of payment of application procedures fees to be duly signed by ARC officer at the time of confirmation of application at ARC
    Application form fee is Rs. 700/- (for General category aspirants of Maharashtra state) and Rs. 500/- (for reserved category aspirants and Persons with Disability Aspirants belonging to Maharashtra State)
  • Upon successful registration, the aspirants will receive a soft copy of Receipt of Payment of fees titled as “aspirant’s copy”.
  • Admission procedure

    BE/B.Tech

    Selection of the aspirant for B.Tech. the programme is done on the basis of their performance in the state common entrance test i.e. MHT-CET 2018, to be organized by DTE Maharashtra.

    ME/M.Tech

    • Selection of the candidate for B.Tech. the programme is done on the basis of their performance in the state common entrance test i.e. MHT-CET 2018, to be conducted by DTE Maharashtra.
    • Selection of the aspirant to M.Tech. the programme is done on the basis of their GATE scores
    • If the candidates secure equal GATE score, then the candidate with higher percentage of marks scored in aggregate at the HSC (Std. XII)/ Diploma/ SSC or its equivalent examination will get preference.

    Admission Reservation

    70% seats are reserved for the students of the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University

    20% seats are reserved for the other university students & students belonging to other states

    10% seats are reserved for the students from the foreign universities
