Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, known as SASTRA UNIVERSITY, is a deemed university which provides undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in different streams such as Engineering, Science, Education, Management, and Arts.
The university’s full name specifies Arts, Sciences, Technology, and Research, and courses are taught across a wide academic field. One of the most renowned of these is the school of Mechanical Engineering, established in 1984 as an original school of the university. Today the school offers undergraduate degrees in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics, as well as integrated masters in Advanced Manufacturing and Automobile Engineering.
The School of Law offers a five-year LL.B programme. Under the snappy strapline ‘Lawgically speaking’ each year the school holds a Moot Court competition, attracting students from across universities in India to pit the legal skills and public debating ability of students against one another until a champion is crowned.

Admission to the above-mentioned programmes is done on the basis of merit and via the ranking system. There is no entrance exam for any of the above-mentioned courses.
Aspirants with the relevant degree can register themselves online/offline and submit the need fee to complete the application procedure. If selected by the admissions team of the university, aspirants will be intimated for the counseling session

Bachelor of Education (2 years)
Aspirants should possess a postgraduate degree with the undergraduate degree in the same subject in Economics/Home Science from a recognized University.
B.F.A. (Specialization in Bharatanatyam)
Aspirants should have finished 10+2 from any recognized board with fundamental knowledge of Bharatanatyam (OR) must possess a Diploma of Dance from any recognized institution.
M.F.A. (Specialization in Bharatanatyam)
Aspirants should possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a fundamental knowledge of Bharatanatyam.
Bachelor of Astrology (3 years)
The aspirant must have passed 10+2 qualifying examination or should possess a Diploma in Astrology or equivalent studies.
Master of Astrology (2 years)
The aspirant must possess any bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
Admission for B.Ed will be merit-based. However, there is various seat allocation for distinct subject degree holders.

Hostel Facility: In total, 14 hostels are offered by the university for boys and girls, and messes are run on a dividing system.
