Method of Application
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology was founded in 2008. It provides a total of 9 courses under undergraduate, postgraduate, management and doctoral levels of education.
RGIPT provides admission to M.Tech courses in two specifications which are Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The total seat intake is of 40 with 20 seats each in both specifications. Period, of course, is 2 years.
The last date of registration is last week of June. The application procedure is online but form filling will start 24 hours after submission of application fee. Basic eligibility for aspirants to apply is that they must have a valid GATE Score. Application fee can be paid by the online method or by bank challan system.

The criteria of eligibility for admission will be set up by the institute. important; list-style-type:disc">For both specifications, aspirants required to have a valid GATE Score. The criteria set up are as follows: important; list-style-type:disc">Chemical Engineering: A 4-year B. Tech/B.E. degree in Chemical or Petrochemical Engineering with a first class or at least 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (55% marks or 5.58 CIP for SC/ST students) in the qualifying exam.
Application form must be submitted on or before the last date. After filling the fields such as SBI Reference No., Name of the aspirant, Date of Birth and mobile no. important; list-style-type:disc">Step 4: Form Completion Page-Aspirants required to note down the RGIPT Registration number for future use and click on ‘Click here to print your application form’ link to move to printing procedure.
Documents need to be uploaded at the time of form filling are as follows:
Aspirants required to pay the application fee before filling the application form. After verification, aspirants required to click on ‘Final Submit’. For general and OBC aspirants INR 400 must be paid whereas INR 200 for SC, ST and PH aspirants.
Shortlisted aspirants will be called for written test and interview. Final selection of aspirants will be based on the performance in written test, interview, GATE Score and earlier academic performance took together.
All selected General/OBC aspirants called for written test and interview will be reimbursed to and fro fare of sleeper class by shortest route after joining respective programs. However, SC/ST/PH aspirants called for the written test and interview will be reimbursed to and fro fare of sleeper class by the shortest route at the time of interview.
Note: Aspirants required to produce Railway/Bus ticket for the claim.
