RBU [Rabindra Bharti University] invites participants for admission to their BA/BFA/B.L.I.Sc & B.Ed. undergraduate courses via common entrance test. Under the RBU panel, the University has divided its faculty into 3 departments: Faculty ofArts, Faculty of Fine Arts & Faculty of Visual Arts. Under these faculties, various courses are arranged in a way best suited for the advancement and improvement of the University’s teaching methodologies and the students.

As per the guidelines allocated by the Govt. of West Bengal, reservation of seats is reserved for SC/ST/OBC categories; additionally, separate seat reservation is situated to Foreign/NRI students. RBU offers time to time scholarships to its meritorious students.

Eligibility:

Aspirants must have cleared the H.S. examination with a minimum score of 55% (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC) in the related subject in which they wish to pursue the course.

For applying in the economics department, students must have Mathematics as their subject at H.S. Examination with a minimum score of 55% (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC) in the related subject in which they wish to pursue the course.

Bachelor of Education [B.Ed] (Special Education)

Eligibility:

Aspirants securing a minimum score of 50% (-5% for SC/ST/OBC) in either in Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree or both (subjects: Science/Social Science/Humanity), Or a minimum score of 55% (-5% for SC/ST/OBC) in Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology (B.Tech) (subjects: Science & Mathematics) are qualified to apply.

Note: Freshers on a break of studies of 2 years and Deputed aspirants on any period of the break are not qualified to apply.

Bachelor of Library and Information Science [B.Lib]

Fresher aspirants having a Bachelor/ Master’s Degree with Honors (10+2+3) or Bachelors in Engineering or Technology (10+2+4/ 10+2+5) from any institute recognized by the UGC are qualified to apply.

Fresher aspirants having a break of studies of 2 years or more are not qualified to apply. No break is allowed for deputed aspirants.

For certificate courses, aspirants having a graduation degree in Honors and a certificate in Library Sciences are qualified to apply.

aided institution or Library are qualified to apply. Deputed aspirants having a graduation degree in Honors and a full-time salaried work employ experience from a Govt.

Step To Apply

BA , B.Ed & BFA

In order to fill out the application form, students must follow these instructions in order to proceed with the scheduled admission procedure:-

Step 1: Online Registration

  • Students have to register themselves, providing all the need and valid information along with contact details (e-mail ID and mobile no.)
  • After successful registration, students may receive a Login Password through SMS. After that, they may be directed to the SB Collect Portal. Students are recommended to immediately change their passwords after the first login.

Step 2: Login

  • Without AIN, an application form for any student may not be considered for admission.
  • After the students enter the login portal, they have to fill up the preferred course(s) & check the eligibility. The information in the booklet consists of a Fees Identification No., required for payment procedure.
  • Further students have to make the payment by clicking on the payment option and filling up the need information. (AIN) which may be treated as a unique no during admission procedure.

NOTE

  1. The application form will be considered incomplete unless the student makes the payment.
  2. The student must take the print out of the form which consists of an Application Identification No. If qualified, students may fill the rest of the application form.
  3. During the filling up of the form, students have to upload a passport size photograph and a signed copy also.
  4. (If the student doesn’t have complete information, he/she may save the form in the draft and fill it afterward.)

    Step 3: Payment method

    • Once need information is filled, students have to proceed by clicking on the link to download the help manual for using State Bank Collect Portal.

Admission Procedure

BA

Criteria for evaluation of marks in merit lists for all courses provided are as follows:

50% of the score is based on the marks obtained in 10th  and 12th  standards (or equivalent) in the ratio of 20:30 respectively. On the basis of total aggregate, the merit lists will be prepared.

For English specifically, there will be two separate merit lists. examination respectively. For students belonging to these boards, a separate admission test will be organized and the provisional merit list will be prepared accordingly.

This separation will be performed on the basis of students want the English language as their First or Second Language in their H.S. Also, for students eligible from various boards other than ICSE and CBSE. (Best four subjects)

The other 50% is based on the score in the related subject in which the student wishes to apply for the Honors Degree.

BFA

The total aggregate of each aspirant shall be proposed based on the marks secured in H.S. The elected subjects carry 300 marks each.

NOTE:

  • Additional fees of INR 2000/- has to be paid by the students opting for Mass Communication & Videography. The payment must be made within one month from the date of admission.
  • Students cannot opt for the same elective subject to which they are related within the Honors Degree.
  • Any change in the choice of elective subject may not be entertained after two months from the date of admission.
  • Students opting for Instrumental Music are debarred from choosing Percussion anymore and Vice-Versa.
Out of which only one subject can be selected per group. /12 standard (or equivalent) and marks scored in the admission test (theory + practical) in the ratio 20:80 respectively, according to which the merit list will be prepared.

Selection of Elective Subject:

For students who are studying B.A. or B.A. Hons. The degree of respective faculties, they have to select two subjects from the following Groups A, B, C, D.

B.Ed

Deputed aspirants having a teaching experience from class IX onwards from a Govt. They should also submit a NOC allocated from the school authority at the time of admission. the aided school will be qualified for admissions.

Reservation Criteria

SEAT ALLOTMENT AND RESERVATION For B.Ed

Total no of seats for the B.Ed. Course: 50

Out of the total, 75% seats will be reserved for Fresher aspirants (90% of this is reserved for home university and 10% for other university aspirants) and the rest 25% of seats are reserved for Deputed aspirants.

Total no of seats for B.Ed. Spl. Course: 30

Out of the total, 90% seats will be reserved for home university aspirants and the rest 10% seats will be for open competition from other universities. rules, separate reservation of seats will be organized for reserved categories (SC/ST/O As per the Govt.

SEAT RESERVATION For B.L.I.Sc.

  1. Separate seat reservation for the reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) as per the Govt. guidelines.

2) Students must notify themselves about the seat allotment for fresher aspirants (internal & external) and deputed aspirants from the University website.

3) B.L.I.Sc. Course reserves 4 separate seats for Foreign/ NRI aspirants against higher tuition fees.
