Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is a state university situated in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India founded 1964.  The University is recognized by UGC, accredited as a “B” grade University by NAAC and has been giving 46th NRF rank by MHRD. The University has 41 affiliated colleges and provides a range of education in professional and academic courses in the faculties of arts,  Science and Technology, Social Science, Commerce, Education, Management, Computer Science etc. The University provides admission to following research program for the year:

  • Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy)
  • M.Phil. (Master of Philosophy)

Aspirants with the relevant Post Graduate qualification can register for the above-mentioned programmes. The university offers reservation of seats/ relaxation of marks for SC/ST/OBC etc. as per the rules of the Government and norms of the university.

Aspirants can register for admission by filling in the online application form and submit the need procedures fee, on or before the last date. Admission to some programmes is done on the basis of merit of the aspirant in the entrance test.

  1. The aspirant should have obtained  post - graduation degree  in the related or concerned branch with at least second division / 50 % marks / equivalent grade  under (10+2+3
    +2)  format from a recognized institute
  2. 5 % relaxation in aggregate marks 3 years relaxation in age will be given to SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Challenged participants of Chhattisgarh.

Step To Apply

M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Science

The aspirants can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the complete application form along with the need amount of procedure fee and important documents before the last date. The aspirant can obtain the application form either online or offline

  1. Online method: aspirant can download and obtain the application form the official website: For this method of application aspirant must pay the need amount through Bank Draft for need amount payable to the Registrar, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur
  2. Offline method: Aspirant may obtain the application form from on cash payment of a prescribed fee from the university office.

After obtaining the application form, the aspirant must follow the following steps:

  • After ensuring the eligibility criteria aspirant must start filling up the application form manually
  • Attach the  need self-attested  documents  and paste the recent colored passport size photograph to  the application form
  • Submit the application form to the office of the University either in person or by Post /Courier.

Aspirants are directed to submit the self-attested copies of the following documents along with the application form

  • Certificate showing date of birth.
  •  Caste Certificate, wherever applicable.
  •  Mark sheet/Certificate of the qualifying examination.
  • Domicile Certificate & other weightage claim certificate.


  • Application fee: Rs.400/- (Rs. Four hundred only)
  • The application fee is non-refundable
  • Aspirants can download the admit cards from the university website.

Admission Procedure

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Management

Admission to above courses shall be based on the merit to be determined by the entrance examination and interview, offered the aspirants fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.

However, the participant does not require to appear in the entrance test if he/she fulfills the following conditions:

  • Aspirant has eligible U.G.C/ CSIR (JRF) Examination/ NET/ SLET/ GATE/ is a Teacher Fellowship holder.
  • The aspirant has Passed M.Phil./M.E./ from statutory University.
  • The aspirants who are selected in the entrance examination are needed to participate in the interview/counseling procedure. level.
  • Research Scholars /Person/Senior Citizens with exceptional abilities and has passed Graduate Degree Examination with 55% of Marks and with 15 years’ experience after graduation in related field (subject to the discretion of Vice-chancellor) Original mark sheet for verification.

Such Aspirants a have only to qualify in the interview conducted by the University

The entrance test shall be based on General Aptitude, Language, Information and Communication and the subject at master’s level. The detailed information regarding the syllabus is given on the university website:


  • The aspirant has to have 5 years regular (unconditional approval) teaching experience at U.G. Such aspirants are directed to bring the application form, photocopies and the originals of the attached documents for the purpose of verification  viz:
  • Transfer Certificate.
  • Conduct Certificate.
  • Original mark sheet for verification.
  • Eligibility Certificate, if required.
  • Migration Certificate, if required.
  • NOC from the Employer in case of an in-service candidate

 The Kashmiri migrant students will be given the following relaxations :( Ref. - Approved by the MHRD)

  1. Relaxation in cut-off percentage up to 10% subject to minimum eligibility requirement.
  2.  Increase in intake capacity by up to 5% course-wise.
  3. Reservation of at least one seat in merit quota in technical/ professional institutions.
  4. Waiving off domicile requirements.



The university has several provisions to offer scholarships to the aspirants who are undergoing different courses provided by the university. 12 % of seats are reserved for SC students, 32% for ST students and 14% for OBC.

Desirous and qualified aspirants can apply for hostel facility, however separate charges are to be paid for the same.

The university provides the following scholarships:

  • Financial assistance in the form of reimbursement of tuition fees as per rules of State and Central Government for SC/ST/OBC aspirants
    • Students pursuing in School of Studies and also having brother/sisters pursuing in School of Studies have the facility to pay a full fee only by the eldest one and remaining members have to pay the half fee as per rules of the Scholarships given by the state government/ GOI Merit scholarships

    Placement Cell:

    The University has a full-fledged Placement Cell which offers essential information and guidance to the students of the Campus for their employment opportunity. The university offers mess, accommodation and different other recreational facilities to the aspirants in the different hostel blocks of the university. Dr. Ninad Bodhankar, Professor, School of Studies in Geology is the In-charge of this Cell. Hostel facility is available separately for males and females.

    Note: The university does not guarantee the placement of the bonafide aspirant of the University.


    The university offers hostel facility to the deserving aspirants. Different reputed companies visit the university campus every year and offer placement and internships to a number of aspirants in the reputed companies/NGO The placement cell is in the Administrative Building of the University in the year 2012.
