Periyar Maniammai University (PMU) is a deemed university in India accredited by NAAC. It offers UG, PG and research programmes in various disciplinees.

Periyar Maniammai University accepts students for the M. programme based on the Uni-GUAGE PG Tech exam score AND/OR marks in the qualifying exam (BE/B. Tech. percentage) i.e. appearing for the entrance is optional if you feel your BE/B.Tech score is good enough to get you selected. Tech. With Uni-GAUGE PGTech Entrance you can apply for M.Tech in Uni-GAUGE member universities.  However, if you appear for the exam the total marks calculated would include 50% of the Uni-GUAGE score and 50% of the qualifying exam marks.

Uni-GUAGE PGTech is an online computer based test for which you need to register separately. Date of Uni-GAUGE PGTech test.

PMU M.Tech Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria

ME/M.Tech

 Various Disciplines offered in M. Candidates must satisfy all eligibility requirements set by Periyar Maniammai University in order to seek admission in the M. programs offered by the university. Tech.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A BE/B.Tech. Tech. 2year (4 semesters) program are as follows:

    • Structural Engineering
    • Nano Technology
    • Software Engineering
    • Renewable Energy
    • Environmental Engineering
    • Construction Engineering and Management
    • Thermal Engineering
    • Wireless Communication Systems
    • CAD / CAM
    • Power Electronics and Drives
    • Automation and Controls
    • Computer Science and Engineering
    • Computer and Communication Engineering

     

    The eligibility criteria for the programs mentioned above are given below. degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 45% marks (40% for reserved categories SC, ST, and OBC).

    PMU M.Tech Admissions 2018 Application Process

    ME/M.Tech

    1. Candidates must visit the following link: http://pmu.edu/UG_PG_Application.aspx in order to download the application form and the admission prospectus.
    2. Fill in the application form with complete details carefully.
    3. Choose to pay the application fee of Rs.600/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST/PwD) through DD drawn in favor of “The registrar, PMU” payable at Thanjavur or online.
    4. Submit the application form and keep the printed copy of the submitted application form.

    Documents required

    • Attested copies of certificates duly signed by Gazetted Officers are to be submitted as well.
    • Certified copies related to educational qualification, age, community etc. are to be submitted by the candidates.

    PMU M.Tech Admissions 2018 Selection Process

    ME/M.Tech

    Selection of the candidates is based on clearing the required cut-off in the Uni-GUAGE entrance exam and normalization of BE/B. Tech. marks.

    Reservation

    Reservation of seats would be as per the norms of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. marks with 50% weightage given to each. 

    If you do not wish to appear for the Uni-GUAGE PGTech exam then you can be selected on the basis of normalized BE/B. Tech. of India.

    Exam Pattern

    • Stream specific questions. 20 questions of 1 mark each and 15 questions of 2 marks each.
    • There is no negative marks for wrong answers.
    • 20 questions on General Aptitude (Verbal and Numerical) of 1 mark each.
    • The number of questions in each subject will be based on the number of hours assigned by statutory agencies during the graduate program.
    • 30 questions on Basic science (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Computing) of 1 mark each.
    • The PG Tech Exam is for 3 Hours. It consists of 85 multiple choice questions (MCQs).
