Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU)) was established through PDPU Act. The university is located at Raisan village of Gandhinagar city. The University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

The university has four schools, located on the same campus. The schools include the School of Petroleum Technology, School of Technology, School of Petroleum Management, and School of Liberal Studies. The university offers various courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and research level.

The university also focuses in the area of Business Administration so as to reach out to many students. Courses like Master of Business Administration (MBA) are offered at postgraduate level. Intake capacity for the courses is 60 seats a. Duration period for the courses is two years.

Candidates seeking admission in MBA need to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT)/ Xavier Admission Test (XAT) Shortlisted Candidate to call for  Written Ability Test (WAT), group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI). Candidates may visit the official website.

Eligibility Criteria

MBA Programme

  • Energy and Infrastructure Management: Intake - 60
  • General Management (with specialization in Financial Management, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Human Resources Management): Intake - 60


  • Only Candidates who have appeared at Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 conducted by IIMs/Xavier Admission Test (XAT) 2018 conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur are eligible to apply.
  • A candidate must hold a Bachelorโ€™s Degree, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in all semesters/trimesters or equivalent CGPA from Recognised Universty.
  • A candidate appearing for the final year/semester examination of bachelor's degree or equivalent can also apply. Such candidates must have to obtain 50% marks or equivalent in the aggregate of all the semesters/years.

How to apply?

Candidates who would like to use online application facility are needed to fill in the Online Application form available on link Apply Online. Candidates applying online will be able to make online payment through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card in the online application procedure.

By downloading the Admission Application Form and sending the duly filled- in application form (available at Offline Admission Form) along with the payment of the application fee of Rs. 1,000 (non-refundable). The application fee may be paid using a demand draft drawn in favour of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, payable at Ahmedabad.

The candidates shortlisted on the basis of aggregate XAT/CAT score will be required to appear for Written Ability Test (WAT), group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) at SPM, PDPU or may be at other select locations (subject to minimum applications) on the specified date.
