Nitte University invites all aspirants to join their MD/MS/MDS programs by giving the entrance test, NUPGET. The University is situated in Derlakatte, Mangalore, Karnataka. It was created under the Trust of Nitte University and has spread in 31 institutions with 3 campuses in Nitte, Mangalore, and Bangalore. The Government of India granted the status of the deemed-to-be university in 2008. It receives an 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The university organizes an entrance test to choose students for its MD/MS/MDS courses. The application form for the test is available on the university's website, and the registration fee has to be filled online only. NUPGET is for citizens of India only. The K S Hegde Medical Academy (for MD/MS) and A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences (for MDS) offer a vast field of specializations for the student to choose from. The selections of NRIs and Foreign nationals will not be made by NUPGET.

Eligibility:

Aspirants fulfilling the following conditions are qualified to sit in the test:

  • Aspirant must score at least 50% (40% for SC/ST/OBC) marks in the NUPGET.
  • All aspirants should be qualified for the criteria set by MCI / DCI time to time.
  • All aspirants must have a permanent/provisional registration with MCI/DCI or any State Medical/Dental Council, as well as that of Karnataka State.
  • All aspirants must have finished their internships by 30th April 2016.
  • All aspirants must have passed their M.B.B.S. (for M.D.S.) from a recognized university.

NITTE University MD/MS & MDS Admission 2018 Application Procedure

  • Before filling the application form, the aspirant should be willing with the following:
  • The aspirant has to pay INR 3,000/- as an entrance test fee. This payment will be made online only.
  • The application form will be available online on the university's website.
  1. A valid personal e-mail ID.
  2. Parents' PAN card numbers.
  3. ID proof (Voter ID/Passport/PAN Card/Driving License/Aadhar Card)
  4. Internship completion date
  5. Medical/Dental Registration number.
  6. M.B.B.S./B.D.S. marks.
  7. Scanned photo of the aspirant and his/her signature.
  • The admit cards will also be available on the university's website and the aspirant will be informed about the availability of the admit cards by SMS and e-mail.
  • When the completed form will be filled and submitted, a unique ID and password will be sent to the aspirant on his/her e-mail ID.
  • After receiving the ID and password, the aspirant can go ahead and make the payment.

NITTE University MD/MS & MDS Admission Procedure 2018

The Aspirants will be selected on the basis of rank achieved by them in NUPGET. The University organizes the Nitte University PG Entrance Test (NUPGET) every year to choose the best students for their MD/MS/MDS courses. The entrance test will be organized in the following centers:

  • Bengaluru
  • New Delhi
  • Mumbai
  • Ernakulam
  • Mangaluru

Note: Bengaluru has two test centers, and the University holds the right to allow any center to the aspirant.

Counseling:

  • The counseling sessions will take place at K S Hegde Medical Academy.
  • The following documents will be verified before the commencement of the process. The aspirants need to carry original +3 photocopies of the following documents:
  1. SSLC or equivalent marks card / Birth Certificate (for age proof)
  2. MBBS/BDS marks card and degree certificate/provisional certificate
  3. Internship completion certificate
  4. MCI/DCI registration certificate
  5. Transfer and Organize certificate
  6. Migration certificate from the earlier institution
  7. 5 passport + 5 stamp size photographs
  8. Medical fitness certificate
  • After collecting the 'documents verification' slip, aspirant has to wait his/her turn for the counseling, and be willing with the slip and a demand draft of the chosen course in favor of 'K S Hegde Medical Academy' payable at Mangalore(for MD/MS courses) and'A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences' payable at Mangalore (for MDS courses).
