The Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University It is the largest in India with an infrastructure of nine colleges, 58 research stations distributed in seven agro-climatic zones of the state, eight agricultural polytechnics, one horticultural polytechnic, one multipurpose polytechnic, 22 District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centres, 12 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Farmer Science Centre), one Agricultural Technology and Information Centre and Electronic Media Wing apart from one Extension Education Institute and Agricultural Information and Communication Centre. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) is a public Agricultural university in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh.

The University provides different postgraduate programmes including Master of Science (M.Sc.) The programme, Master of Technology (M.Tech.) Programme and Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme. However, the M.Sc. Home Science Programme is only for women.

Eligibility Criteria

For all courses:-

You should have passed the following Bachelor’s degree course with a minimum OGPA of 5.50 out of 10.00 (for SC/ ST- 5.00 out of 10.00); or 2.50 out of 4.00 (for SC / ST-2.00 out of 4.00) or 50% marks in traditional system (40% for SC/ST):

For Agriculture: B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (CA&BM).

For Molecular Biology: B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (CA&BM) / Horticulture / Sericulture / Forestry

For Environmental Science: B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering) / B.V.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science of 4 years duration / or B.Sc. (Home Science) or B.Tech.

Age: You should not be more than 40 years as on 1st July.

Note: The M.Sc. (Home Science) Programme is for women only.

You should have passed the following Bachelor’s degree course with a minimum OGPA of 5.50 out of 10.00 (for SC/ ST- 5.00 out of 10.00); or 2.50 out of 4.00 (for SC / ST-2.00 out of 4.00) or 50% marks in traditional system (40% for SC/ST): B.Sc. (Ag. (Agriculture Engineering) or B.V.Sc. / B.Tech. ) / Hort. Sc.) / B.Tech (Dairying) / B.Tech (Food Technology) / B.Sc. (Food Science & Technology) / B.Sc. (CA&BM) of 4 years duration.

Age: You should not be more than 40 years as on 1st July 2016.

Step To Apply

M.Sc, ME/M.Tech & MBA/PGDM

  • You can download the Application Form from the website of the University.
  • You should take a print out of the Application Form and fill it with the need for personal and educational details in your own handwriting.
  • You must select the course you are applying for and strike off the courses which are not applicable.
  • You should affix a recent colored passport size photograph in the space offered.

Application Fee: You should pay the registration fee in the form of Demand Draft for Rs.800 for General and Rs. 400 for SC, ST, and PH. Inner Ring Road: Guntur – 522 509: AP. Ranga Agricultural University, Admn.Camp Office: Vijaya Durga Towers: M.G.

The Demand Draft should be from SBH / SBI / ANDHRA BANK and drawn in favor of Comptroller, Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, payable at Hyderabad.

Enclosures: You should attach the following along with the application form:

  • Two self-addressed (with PIN code) envelops affixing postage stamps of Rs.5 on each.
  • Memorandum of marks (all years) obtained at the qualifying (B.Sc. level) examination or transcript
  • Caste Certificate
  • Date of Birth certificate
  • Study Certificates / Residence Certificate
  • Provisional/degree certificate of the qualifying examination

Admission Procedure

M.Sc & ME/M.Tech

For M.Sc. (Agriculture) / M.Sc. (Home Science) / M.Tech (Ag. It shall be of 2 hours period with objective type questions in English and responses must be written in English. Engineering):

Your selection shall be based on the earlier academic record at UG level and performance in Entrance Test and the weightage would be in the ratio of 30:70.

The Entrance Test shall be an extensive one, covering all relevant subjects prescribed for the related Bachelor degree requirements of this University. The qualifying marks in Entrance Test shall be 50% marks which will be relaxed for SC/ST category to the extent of seats reserved for them.

There will be extra weightage as indicated below given subject to a maximum of 5 marks if you produce certificates for achievements in NCC / NSS / Sports / Games / Cultural / Literary activities at B.Sc. level:

  • Inter-University Level - 1 mark
  • Inter-State Level - 2 marks
  • International level - 3 marks

MBA/PGDM

For M.B.A Agri-Business Management:-

Your selection shall be based on the performance in a Written Test, group discussion & interview.

The written test is designed to evaluate Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical Ability and Test of Reasoning, General English / Language Skills, General Knowledge and Present Affairs.

It shall be of 2 hours period with objective type questions in English and responses must be written in English. The qualifying marks in Entrance Test shall be 50% marks which will be relaxed for SC/ST category to the extent of seats reserved for them.

  • Overall, 40% of the seats in B.Sc. (Ag.), B.Tech (Ag.), B.Sc. (CA&BM) and B.Tech. (Food Science & Technology) courses are reserved for aspirants coming from families of Agriculturists actually engaged in and owning not less than 3 acres of land and who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools situated in Non-Municipal areas.
  • In M.B.A. (Agribusiness Management) course, 10% (5 Seats) are reserved for NRIs / Industry Sponsored Aspirants. 5% of the seats shall be offered to NRIs / and 5% to Industry sponsored aspirants.
