Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) Post Graduate Admissions 2018

Netaji Subhas Open University is a public university which was founded in 1997. University is affiliated with UGC and DEC. It is an open university imparting distance education in eastern India.

The University provides provides postgraduate (UG) programmes in different branchs:

Post graduate courses:

  • M.Lib.I.Sc.

Aspirants can get direct admission to the above mentioned all the Post Graduate courses. Aspirants can register themselves to the above mentioned Post Graduate courses by submitting the fee of amount Rs. 480/- which comprises (100/- for Registration, 100/- for identity cum Registration Card, 130/- as Annual Development fee and 150/- for prospectus).

Master of Arts [MA] (Bengali)

  •  The aspirant must be graduate under (10+2+3) format from this university or any other recognized university
  •  The aspirant must have obtained at least 300 marks in Bengali and passed successfully from this university or any other recognized university

Master of Arts [MA] (English)

  • The aspirant must be graduate under (10+2+3) format from this university or any other recognized university

Master of Arts [MA] (History)

Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal

  • The aspirant must have obtained at least 300 marks in History and passed successfully from this university or any other recognized university
  • The aspirant must be graduate under (10+2+3) format from this university or any other recognized university

Master of Arts [MA] (Political Science)

  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal
  •  The aspirant must have obtained at least 300 marks in political science and passed successfully from this university or any other recognized university

Master of Arts [MA] (Public Administration)

  • The aspirant must be graduate under (10+2+3) format with Public Administration / Political Science / Sociology / Economics from this university or any other recognized university
  • The aspirant must have obtained at least 300 marks in Public Administration / Political Science / Sociology / Economics and passed successfully from this university or any other recognized university
  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal

Master of Arts [MA] (English Language Teaching)

  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal
  • The aspirant must have obtained at least 300 marks in English/ Linguistics and passed successfully from this university or any other recognized university
  • The aspirant must be graduate under (10+2+3) format with English/ Linguistics from this university or any other recognized university

Master of Arts [MA] (Education)

  • The aspirant must have obtained at least 300 marks in Education and passed successfully or must be another graduate under (10+2+3) format with B.Ed. / B.Ed. (SEDE) from this university or any other recognized university
  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal
  • The aspirant must be graduate under (10+2+3) format with Education from this university or any other recognized university

Master of Social Work [MSW]

  • The aspirant must be graduate under (10+2+3) format with Sociology / Political Science / History / Public Administration / Economics / Anthropology from this university or any other recognized university
  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal
  • The aspirant must have obtained at least 300 marks in above-mentioned subjects and passed successfully from this university or any other recognized university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Mathematics)

  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal
  • The aspirant must be considered other graduate under (10+2+3) format if they have studied at least 300 marks in mathematics at undergraduate level from this university or any other recognized university with at least 55% marks in mathematics.
  • The aspirant must be preferably honored graduate under (10+2+3) format in mathematics from this university or any other recognized university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Geography)

  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal
  • The aspirant must be honored graduate under (10+2+3) format in geography from this university or any recognized university

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Zoology)

The aspirant must be honors graduate under (10+2+3) format in geography from this university or any recognized university

Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal

M.Com

  • The aspirant must be B.Com/BBA graduate under (10+2+3) format from this university or any other recognized university
  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal

Master of Library and Information Science [M.Lib]

  • The aspirant must possess the degree in Bachelor of Library and Information Science from this university or any other recognized university or must be another graduate under (10+2+3) format with at least 300 marks of study in Library Science/ Library and Information Science/ Information Science.
  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal.

Bachelor of Library and Information Science [B.Lib]

  • The aspirant must pass graduate under (10+2+3) format having 3 subjects with at least 50% marks from this university or any other recognized university.
  • The aspirant must be graduate under (10+2+3) format in honors subject with honors graduate with at least 45% of marks from this university or any other recognized university.
  • Marks relaxation for reserved category aspirants will be given as per the rules of Government of West Bengal

Step To Apply

MA, M.Com & M.Sc

  • Aspirants are recommended to submit the online application form with all the necessary documents, photographs and university copy of the challan obtained from the bank to the Study Centre.
  • Aspirants are also recommended to carry the photocopy of his/her computer-generated admission form signed and stamped by the person attending him/her in the Study Centre.
  • Aspirants can register themselves to the above mentioned Under Graduate courses by submitting the fee of amount Rs. 480/- which comprises (100/- for Registration, 100/- for Identity cum Registration Card, 130/- as Annual Development fee and 150/- for prospectus).
  • Aspirants can obtain the online application form from the university website “bdp.wbnsouadmissions.com”.
  • Aspirants must have to pay the fee by visiting any discipline of Allahabad Bank using the pre-printed challan collected at the time of online submission and stamped by the coordinator on verification.

Admission Procedure

MA , M.Com & M.Sc

Selection of the aspirant to the above-mentioned courses is done straight on first cum first cater basis. Admission is any course would be made on the basis of Aspirants's performance in the admission test; if and where, no test in conducted, admission would be made on the basis of aggregate total marks secured by the Aspirants in / at the qualifying examination and marks obtained by the Aspirants in eligibility subject
