National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi campus is one of the oldest NIFTs conducting Fashion courses in the nation. The New Delhi campus has been established in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. It's one of those 16 NIFT campuses situated in a variety of parts of the nation.

National Institute Of Fashion Technology, Delhi has been established in 1986, the enormous turning point in the history of the Fashion industry. It had been well recognized by the Government of India, Ministry of Textile together with the alliance of FIT, New York. The Institute provides a frequent platform for fashion education, training and research.

At the undergraduate level, the NIFT New Delhi campus offers a B.FTech. Program in Apparel Production and B. Des. Courses in around 6 specializations. The institute provides three programs at the post-graduate level, viz. M. Des., M.F.M. and M.FTech. The intake capacity for the B.Des. Program is 240 annually with 30 seats per specialization. The B. FTech program has a total of 30 seats. For the PG courses, NIFT New Delhi has an intake of 30 seats per program.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for M.Des (Master of Design), M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management) & M.F.Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology) programs offered at National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi has been explained below:

M.Des (Master of Design)

Eligibility for Master Programme – Design

  • Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India OR
  • Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.)

Eligibility for Master Programme – Fashion Management

  • Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India. OR
  • Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

M.F.Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology)

Eligibility for Master Programme – Fashion Technology

  • B.F.Tech. from NIFT OR
  • B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognized by law in India

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2018 are also eligible to apply. They will be required to produce proof of having acquired necessary qualifications by the time of admission or counseling.

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 23 years as on 1st October 2017. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe/ Person With Disability (PWD).

How to apply?

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) New Delhi campus accepts applications from eligible candidates via a centralized application process that is common for all campuses.  The detailed application process for the Exact Same is as follows:

  • Candidates seeking admission to the different programs provided by NIFT New Delhi will visit the institute site and apply online. 
  • Candidates need to ensure fulfilment of eligibility criteria before filling the online application form. 
  • It is hence advisable to go through the application guidelines mentioned in the prospectus prior to applying.
  • All requisite data in the application form has to be entered correctly.  Candidates are advised to feed only the most recent contact information for communicating purpose. 
  • Candidates can select between offline and online manner for payment of application fee. 
  • For online payments, debit or credit card or online banking might be used. 
  • Just Bank Drafts are approved for offline fee payment. 
  • Candidates wishing to pay the application fee through demand draft must obtain the draft prior to filling the application form, and also must furnish details of the DD in the online application form.

  • 12th class/ degree marks sheet and certificates – original and photocopies
  • Scanned copies of the original certificates on a CD
  • Bank Draft(s) of requisite fee in favour of “NIFT HO”
  • Proof of date of birth (10th std. mark sheet/ certificate) - original and photocopies
  • SC/ST/OBC - Non-Creamy/Physically Handicapped certificate, if Applicable.
  • Domicile Certificate, as applicable
  • Basis of funding of the tuition fee/ Certificate of the parent's income
  • Certificate of Medical Fitness
  • Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- (for seeking provisional admission)
  • An undertaking regarding Anti-Ragging (Annexure-II)
  • An undertaking regarding refund of fee (Annexure-IV)

Admission Process

The Admission to the Master Programme in Design, Management and Technology candidates Shortlisted for M.Des, M.F Tech and MFM through GAT and CAT Score Card. On the basis of the result of GAT and CAT, in case of M.Des. and GAT in case of M.F Tech and MFM, candidates will be called for Group Discussion / Personal Interview. The final Selection of the Master Programme in Design, Management and Technology Based on the performance of  Group Discussion / Personal Interview.
