MU (Mumbai University) was the oldest University which was founded in 1857 and situated at Mumbai, Maharashtra and one of the first three universities in India. It has found its name in industrial & International collaborations and runs different professional courses. At the national level, it has excelled in sports, cultural and out-access activities. Several private colleges in and around Mumbai are affiliated to MU. The University was accorded 5-star status in 2001 & 'A' grade status in April 2012 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has been granted University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) status by UGC and PURSE Scheme by DST.
In the last five years, it has seen 104% increase in undergraduate students. The University of Mumbai is one of the largest universities in the world in terms of the number of students. More than eighty of its teachers are on different professional bodies. Moreover, eighteen National/International awards have been won by the teachers in the last five years.
The University invites applications for different postgraduate courses for the academic year 2018. These courses are provided in the Faculty of Arts, Science, Commerce, Performing Arts and Fine Arts. The applications for the programmes are available on the University website and after the online submission must be submitted to the respective colleges. The postgraduate courses are full time and of two years duration.

You should be a graduate in any branch from any recognized University.
You should have passed the examination for the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (three years/Six Semester integrated course) or the degree of B.Com. (Old Course) or the other Semester based Programmes i.e. Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & Insurance) or Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) or Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Markets) or Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.) of this University, or an examination of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto, and secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate for general category and 45% marks in case of reserved category.M.P.Ed
You should hold a degree of Bachelor of Physical Education of this University or degree of another University recognized as equivalent thereto.
You should have passed Bachelor’s degree of this University in any faculty in second class and the degree of Bachelor of Library and Information Science of this University in good second class (i.e. minimum 50% or above and 45% or above for Reserved Category , or should have obtained qualification recognized equivalent thereto by this University.Master of Social Work [MSW] & Master of Labour Studies
You must have taken the Bachelor’s degree of this University in any faculty, or the Bachelor’s degree of any other University recognized as equivalent to the Bachelor’s degree of this University.
You should hold a degree of Master of Fine Art (Dance) M.F.A. (Dance) and you must have taken the degree of Bachelor of Fine Art (Dance) of this University or a degree of another University recognized as equivalent thereto, in that particular style in which you seek admission to the Master’s degree course.
You should log on to the official website of the University and select the link for “Pre- Admission Online Registration” offered on the upper right corner of the homepage.
You should then click on “Apply Online” and register yourself by entering your authentic details in the relevant fields and click on “Register”.
You will receive a verification code and a link on your mobile via SMS in some time. You must log in with your verification code, enter all the specific particulars on the online application form.
You should attach your recent passport size color photograph of dimensions 35mm x 45 mm with minimum 72 to maximum 150 DPI resolution.
Registration Fee: You should pay the Registration fee of Rs. 100 via a Demand Draft in favor of “The Finance and Accounts Officer, University of Mumbai” payable at Mumbai.
You should then submit the Application online.
Once you fill the Application Form successfully and apply, you will have to submit/send the print out of the Application Form along with necessary documents to every course-college separately for which you have applied.

For Eligibility Certificate (If applicable): You will need to attach the Eligibility certificate if you are from a University other than the Mumbai University.
You must approach the Registrar of the University or any of its constituent colleges and obtain the Eligibility Certificate for the following fees paid in cash:
You will need to attach this along with your Application Form at the time of the final admission.
If your Bachelor’s degree is in the same course in which you want admission, with 6 papers on that subject, you will be admitted on the basis of merit. If it is 3 papers, you will have to appear for an Interview.
If you have done your Bachelor’s in a subject other than the one you want admission in, you will be selected on the basis of a written test consisting of 2 papers in the subject in which you desire to register for your M.A. degree. Paper 1 will be an essay paper on the subject, and Paper 2 shall be a paper to test your general acquaintance with the subject.M.Com

You will be selected on the basis of merit. However, if you are a graduate of a University other than Mumbai University want admission to the course, you will have to apply to the Registrar of this University for a Certificate of Eligibility.Master of Social Work [MSW] & Master of Labour Studies
