Mumbai University (MU) is the oldest University which was founded in 1857 and situated at Mumbai, Maharashtra and one of the first three universities in India. It has found its name in industrial & International collaborations and runs different professional courses. It has been granted University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) status by UGC and PURSE Scheme by DST. At the national level, it has excelled in sports, cultural and out-access activities. Several private colleges in and around Mumbai are affiliated to MU. The University was accorded 5-star status in 2001 & 'A' grade status in April 2012 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
In the last five years, it has seen 104% increase in undergraduate students. The University also maintains a faculty-student ratio of 1:15. Moreover, eighteen National/International awards have been won by the teachers in the last five years. More than eighty of its teachers are on different professional bodies. The University of Mumbai is one of the largest universities in the world in terms of the number of students.
The University provides Master in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) Programme. As per the new Credit Based System of Mumbai University, it is two semesters (one year)theory and practical examinations and two full semester research work. The course focuses on specialization in the field of pharmacy. The programmes are intended to give an immersive professional experience and an opportunity to acquire further competence either in one’s own branch.
The University invites applications for admission to the M.Pharm. Programme for the academic year 2018-19. The admission is via either MHT-MPH-CET 2018 Examination or GPAT 2018 Examination.

For Non-Sponsored Seats:
You should have passed B. Pharm. degree or appeared in final year / final semester of B. Pharm. from any AICTE approved institution affiliated with University (approved by UGC), with minimum 55% marks in general category and minimum 50% marks in case of SC/ST category and Persons with Disability (belonging to Maharashtra State only)
You should also have obtained Registration with the State Pharmacy Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of admission
For Sponsored Seats:
Apart from above qualifications, you should have a valid sponsorship letter along with 2 years of work experience.
Nationality: You should be an Indian national only.
You should apply online on the GPAT website.
You should fill the Application Form with the need individual and educational details.
You must give 3 preferences for the Test Centre from the given list of centers available in the form.
Application Fee: You should pay the following Application Fee either online (Credit card/Debit card/Net banking) or in cash via the challan at any discipline of SBI bank:
If you are paying in cash, you required to take 3 printouts of this Challan, fill in the details wherever need in all the copies, and walk into your nearest SBI bank discipline with cash on the next day of generation of Challan. Cash Deposit will be accepted only from the next day of your Challan generation.
You must then fill in the details of your payment and submit the Application online. Your registration is now complete.

You should take a printout of the online form and check for different entries made in the application. You must accurate them online if necessary.

You should download and print the pay-in-slip available on the website. Fill it for the amount mentioned in the online application printout and pay the necessary amount in the selected bank counters.
Submit the duly filled in application form along with one copy of payment of fees (pay in slip/challan) to the related Application Receipt Centre in person only. You should not send the printout of online application form by post/courier to Application Receipt Centre for confirmation
You should then pay Rs. 100 at Application Receipt Centre during confirmation of application as application procedure fees. All relevant original documents will be verified at ARC, without which your application form will not be confirmed at Application Receipt Centre.
You should collect the signed and stamped receipt of confirmation of application form and admit card for MAH-MPH-CET 2018 examination (for non-GPAT 2018 aspirants only) from ARC Head. Your registration is now complete.
Your selection will be based on either of the following examinations: MAH-MPH-CET 2018 or GPAT 2018.
The exam paper comprises 150 questions in the form of objective multiple-choice-type questions. The questions will be based on the topics - natural products (Pharmacognosy & Photochemistry), Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Clinical Pharmacy. The period of the test is three hours. There is no negative marking for an inaccurate response.
You should be able to secure a non-zero score in the exam.
GPAT is the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test. The exam has negative marking with 1 mark being deducted for every inaccurate response. It is a three-hour computer-based test organized in a single session. The exam contains a total of 125 questions with 4 marks for every accurate response. It is a national level entrance exam organized by AICTE.
You should be able to qualify GPAT with a valid score.
The reservation for Backward Class categories will be only for aspirants of Maharashtra.
1/3rd of the 15 % seats shall be reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and 2/3rd of the 15 % seats shall be reserved for the PIO/Foreign Nationals etc. However, any vacant seats out of 1/3 category shall be reverted to the quota of 2/3 meant for PIO/FN.
