Mumbai University (MU) is the oldest University which was founded in 1857 and situated at Mumbai, Maharashtra and one of the first three universities in India.  Several private colleges in and around Mumbai are affiliated to MU. The University was accorded 5-star status in 2001 & 'A' grade status in April 2012 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has found its name in industrial & International collaborations and runs different professional courses. At the national level, it has excelled in sports, cultural and out-access activities. It has been granted University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) status by UGC and PURSE Scheme by DST.

In the last five years, it has seen 104% increase in undergraduate students. The University of Mumbai is one of the largest universities in the world in terms of the number of students. Moreover, eighteen National/International awards have been won by the teachers in the last five years. More than eighty of its teachers are on different professional bodies.

The University invites applications for admission to Bachelor in Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) Programme for the academic year 2018-19. It will be organized at all the district headquarters of the State of Maharashtra. The entire application procedure is online and must be finished by March 22nd, 2018. The admission is via the MHT-CET (Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test) 2018 to be held on May 5th, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Pharm

You should have passed the HSC (Class 12th) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics and secured a minimum 50% marks i.e., not less than 150 marks out of 300 marks for general category and 45% marks i.e., not less than 135 marks out of 300 marks for Backward Class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State. Maximum of marks obtained in Biology/Mathematics shall be considered for the purpose of addition.

For MHT-CET:

Step 1: You should register for MHT-CET online on the official website. and a password on the first login. and date of payment has been updated.

Step 2: You should fill in the Application form with the personal details with a valid email id, mobile No. You should take a print out of the Registration Confirmation page. The file name of Photograph and signature should preferably be photo.jpeg and sign.jpeg respectively. The picture should be taken against a light/white background. The signature should be on a white paper with a black ink pen. This completes the registration procedure. The file size of each of them should not be more than 50 KB per file.

Step 3: You should upload a recent color passport size photograph and signature in JPEG pattern only. Make the payment via the Bank Challan from any discipline of SBI Bank for: 

Step 4: You must then download and print the MHT-CET bank challan on an A4 size paper on a single page. You will find the Application under the “MHT-CET-2018 Registration” link.

Step 5: You should log in to MHT-CET-2018 registration using your MHT-CET-2018 Registration No and password after 24 hours of making the payment and confirm if the Bank transaction ID No. Scan the signature in 200 dpi (dots per inch) scanner resolution settings.



For Admission to the University:

You should apply to the Registrar for a statement of eligibility, except in the case of students from the Universities in the State of Maharashtra at Registrar, University of Mumbai, M.G. Road, Fort, Mumbai-400 032

Application Fee: You should then pay the Application fee of 

  • ­Rs. 200 only if you have a domicile in Maharashtra 
  • Rs. 730 for Foreign Nationals
  • Rs. 300 for domicile out of Maharashtra State 

The Registrar may issue a provisional statement of eligibility if he is satisfied that you are prima facie qualified for admission to this University. 

You will need to show this provisional statement of eligibility, at the time of want provisional admission to this University along with the necessary certificates in original together with a typed copy of each for confirmation of your eligibility.

Selection Procedure

B.Pharm

You will be selected on the basis of MHT-CET 2018 i.e., Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test.

The MHT-CET-2018 will consist of three question papers. Whereas Paper III has 50 questions with 2 marks for every accurate response.

Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics for the MHTCET-2018 will be the same as for the present year for HSC Examination (i.e., March 2018) of HSC Board of Maharashtra. The programme, you should appear for Paper I & Paper-and/or Paper-III. The MHT-CET-2018 will be organized at all the district headquarters of the State of Maharashtra. The paper I and Paper II have 100 questions with 1 mark for each accurate response. Each paper is of 100 marks and of one and half hours duration. For applying to B.Pharm. Paper 1 consists of Physics and Chemistry, Paper-II consists of Botany and Zoology; and Paper III consists of Mathematics.
