Mumbai University (MU) is one of the oldest Universities which was founded in 1857 and situated at Mumbai, Maharashtra and one of the first three universities in India. At the national level, it has excelled in sports, cultural and out-access activities. The University was accorded 5-star status in 2001 & 'A' grade status in April 2012 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has found its name in industrial & International collaborations and runs different professional courses. It has been granted University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) status by UGC and PURSE Scheme by DST. Several private colleges in and around Mumbai are affiliated to MU.
In the last five years, it has seen 104% increase in undergraduate students. More than eighty of its teachers are on different professional bodies. The University of Mumbai is one of the largest universities in the world in terms of the number of students. Moreover, eighteen National/International awards have been won by the teachers in the last five years.
The University provides ME (Master of Engineering) and M.Tech.(Master of Technology) Programmes in different branches for the academic year 2018. The ME Programme is available in both Part-Time and Full-Time courses in various specializations. The admission to the programmes will be based on your GATEscore and will be done via the DTE Maharashtra website.

Mumbai University 2018 Admission procedure
The University of Mumbai will offer admissions to various ug programmes in the university-affiliated colleges for the academic admission year 2018. The Mumbai University 2018 ug admissions in the various programmes will be provided on the basis of marks secured by the aspirants in the qualifying board examination under 12th education system. The admission procedure of University of Mumbai 2018 begins with the announcement of Mumbai University application form. After the applicants have filled the application form for ug programmes, the university declares cut off for University of Mumbai Admission 2018. The aspirants, who meet the cut off marks for Mumbai University 2018 admission, will have to report to the colleges for document verification and other formalities as per University of Mumbai admission regulation and eligibility criteria for the chosen programme. The aspirants will then be provided admission into the programme at the college of their choice after remitting the fees. With this, the Mumbai University admission 2018 procedure ends.
You should have passed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology from State Governments/MHRD approved institutions, with at least 50 % Aggregate marks for general category and at least 45% marks in case of Backward class categories and persons with disability (belonging to Maharashtra State only) Aspirants must be Indian Nationals. They should have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream of Engineering/Technology from All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) or from Central or State Government recognized college/institute or equivalent.
In the qualifying examination, the aspirants are appointed to have secured at least 50% marks (45% for Backward classes/PWD aspirants) belonging to Maharashtra State).
They must have a passed the qualifying examination at the UG level in the relevant stream as per the eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Tech programme that the aspirants are seeking admission in.

Step to Apply
You should register yourself on the official website.
To register application, choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter your Name, Contact details, and Email-id.
You should then cautiously fill and verify the details filled in the online application.
Upload the photograph and signature in JPost Graduate or JPEG pattern. The registration procedure is now complete.
The scanned signature should be on white paper with Black Ink pen. The photograph must be a recent passport style color picture against a light-colored, preferably white, background. You should also take a printout of the e-Receipt.

Rs. 500 for the reserved category including Physically disabled only from Maharashtra
Once you have verified all the details, then click the “Final Submission” button. The size of the file should be between 10kb to 20 kb with 140 x 60 pixel (preferably)
Application Fee: You should pay the Application Fee mentioned below by using Debit Cards (RuPay /Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets. The size of the file should be between 20kb to 50 kb with 200 x 230 pixels (preferably) and 4.5cm × 3.5cm dimensions.
You will be selected on the basis of the GATE Exam. You should have a valid non-zero positive GATE
