In the last five years, it has seen 104% increase in undergraduate students. More than eighty of its teachers are on different professional bodies. The University of Mumbai is one of the largest universities in the world in terms of the number of students. Moreover, eighteen National/International awards have been won by the teachers in the last five years. The University also maintains a faculty-student ratio of 1:15.
Faculty of Engineering, Mumbai University provides the following programmes: the B.E. (Full Time), B.E. (Part-Time), B. Tech., B. The B. Arch Programme is a 5-year programme and is provideed by the different affiliated colleges of Mumbai University. Tech., B. Chem. The B.E. (Part Time) Programme is for a period of two years and the remaining Engineering programmes are 4-year i.e., 8-semester programmes. Engineering Programmes. Chem.
The University invites applications for admission to the above-mentioned programmes for the academic year 2018-19. The admission to the engineering programmes is via the Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) 2018 to be held on May 5th, 2018 (tentative). While the admission to B.Arch. The programme is via the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2018 to be held on different dates.

For Biomedical Engineering / Bio-Tech Engineering: You must have passed subject of Biology at the qualifying examination, in addition to fulfilling the above criteria.

Step 1: You should register for MHT-CET online on the official website. You should take a print out of the Registration Confirmation page.
Scan the signature in 200 dpi (dots per inch) scanner resolution settings.
Step 4: You must then download and print the MHT-CET bank challan on an A4 size paper on a single page. This clears the registration procedure. The file size of each of them should not be more than 50 KB per file. Make the payment via the Bank Challan from any discipline of SBI Bank for: The file name of Photograph and signature should preferably be photo.jpeg and sign.jpeg respectively. and date of payment has been updated.
Step 5: You should log in to MHT-CET-2017 registration using your MHT-CET-2018 Registration No and password after 24 hours of making the payment and confirm if the Bank transaction ID No. You will find the Application for the “MHT-CET-2018 Registration” link.
Step 2: You should fill in the Application form with the individual details with a valid email id, mobile No. The picture should be taken against a light/white background. The signature should be on a white paper with a black ink pen. and a password on the first login.
Step 3: You should upload a recent colour passport size photograph and signature in JPEG pattern only. B.Arch

You should register on the NATA website with a valid email ID. You should register well in advance to get your preferred test date.
You should then fill the form with the need individual and educational details.
Application Fee: You should pay the Application fee of Rs. 1250 either via credit card/debit card / net banking or you can generate the challan for depositing the payment via cash in any of the disciplines of the ICICI Bank all over India.

You must then submit the Application online only. Your registration is now clear.
Recruitments for the exam are scheduled on a first-come, first-cater basis.
Your selection will be on the basis of MHT – CET 2017 Examination. The syllabus for every subject will be the same as for the present year for HSC Examination (i.e., March 2018) of HSC Board of Maharashtra. Paper 3 includes of Mathematics with 50 questions with 2 marks for every accurate response.
The MHT-CET-2018 for engineering admissions will consist of two question papers (Paper 1 and Paper 3). There shall be no negative marking for wrong responses. Each paper is of 100 marks and one and a half hours duration. The questions will be multiple choice type and all questions have to be responded.
Paper 1 consists of Physics and Chemistry with 50 questions each carrying one marks for every accurate response. B.Arch
You will be selected on the basis of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2018 organizeed by the Council of Architecture. The aesthetic sensitivity test measures perception, imagination and observation, creativity and communication along with architectural awareness

The primary emphasis in scoring the drawing section is on your drawing, imagination and observation skills. The test measures your aptitude via two sections - a paper-based section for drawing and a computer-based section for aesthetic sensitivity.
Drawing Section: This is a two-hour paper where you have to attempt three questions. Your sense of proportion & perspective is also evaluated together with a sense of colour and composition.
Aesthetic Sensitivity Test: This is a computer based test where you have to response 40 multiple choice questions. You must be able to secure 40% score in NATA, i.e. minimum 80/200.
The test is in two parts, a paper-based drawing test and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test.
The reservation criteria will be as per the norms prescribed by the Government of Maharashtra.
